Miyagi's...[i:5730bcdc1d]blah[/i:5730bcdc1d]. Meat market for white frat boys. Not that I mind going to non-Asian clubs, but Miyagi's is the very Hollywood-ish type crowd that I think I just grew out of.

from what i saw, only the fat ugly girls were jiggling their wares on top of the bar. it was quite a distressing sight.

I'm sorry, but the rating system on this confuses me most greatly.
^-- Yeah, tell me about it. This is the first time I'm seeing this thread and the poll's not making any sense whatsoever. The only thing I could make out were the star ratings. But Go-Bots? Transformers?? Beast Wars? WTF?!? I'm not too fond of Miyagi's. Too crowded, too loud, too smelly (especially the third floor). So I voted two stars...

My five years in LA I haven't done the sunset thing. I don't see the need. : P

it might be worth doing once or twice. it's a totally different scene then most places. dealing with the traffic and crowds can be a pain. also make sure that you have mad cash if you go. last time i went to miyagi's, one long island was $15.
miyagi's is crowded and stuffy (the air, not the people). but it's free, which i suspect is why it's so popular. the crowd is also pretty diverse.
but the cramped quarters makes me vote 2 stars!
i h8z miyagi's. Dublin's was way better.

was there dancing at Dublin's? i'd only been on a Wednesday and it was very dive-bar-ish.

i agree with sokaboya that you should do it just for the atmosphere and for the variety. a lot of people associate sunset with clubbing and getting drunk and hitting on the underage valley girls (or over age hollywood boys) but there's quite a lot more; you could eat dinner and watch a show at the House of Blues, you could grab some food, hit up a bar, and then enjoy the club scene at Garden of Eden, or you could hit up a comedy show at the Laugh Factory! Sunset is cool just because of how much there IS on sunset. Just avoid the eastern part; that's where all the high schoolers seem to hang out

agreed. almost every place on sunset is overcrowded
I've never been there, so I voted Voltron.
