I read a while ago that the average American penis was around 5.5 inches with a STD of ~0.25 inches.

Asians averaged the smallest at around 5.2 while Africans averaged around 5.7.

maybe so, but condom sizes are noticably smaller in Japan, so unless it can be proven that crossing the international date line from east to west enlarges your penis while going from west to east makes it smaller, that in itself is pretty good evidence that there is a size difference. I think the range of condom sizes are standard, aren't they? I've used Canadian, American and British ones and they're still tight to the point of being uncomfortable. What's odd is that condoms are supposed to be able to stretch pretty well too to accomodate...*ahem*...individuals with above average girth. I remember back in high school my biology teacher told us a story about how her friend (a sex-ed instructor) put a condom over her hand like a glove.

Anyway, simple remedy is just to buy larger ones. No way in hell I'm going to suffer through a strangle hold where there should be none. Hah! :D

Actually they have special size condoms...for "larger men" In Japan they have them to, I know I had to buy them, but in America I didn't have to...(guess I am just pathetically average in America), but in America they do have the Magnum condoms, I have seen them before and they are big.

I bought one brand of condom in Japan, and I couldn't even get it on...being that I always feel embarrased to buy condoms, and that it was worse becauase I had to ask for it in Japan (behind the counter of the Pharmacy) and worse yet ask in Japanese...it is not like people are not already looking at me because I am foreign...so I never went back there, I had to walk like another mile down the road to this other 7/11 type deal to get them. I'm not so sure if we can hypothesize the whole population's  "member" size based on their condoms. Though, it does not lack merit. We can’t really get an exact answer unless a non-bias sampling or well thought out research would be done (such a useless one at that). However, I noticed that condoms in the Philippines have the best fit for me while US condoms are bit tight (I’m talking about the non-magnums here  :blush:  ). So, does that mean that guys have a bigger barrel over there? Well…. I don’t know and I don’t care.. As long as it serves its purpose and make “those” toes curl as they always say, I can't find any reason to get really obsessed or "hunged" up on it ..  ;)

it's all about maximizing your marketability.  And if they have found that a certain size sells well, thru sampling or just market research, then it is a pretty good example, even if only 50% of the population fits the average.  Again, I am not suggesting that ALL non-asians have larger weenies than ALL Asians, however what I am suggesting is that on average, the American condom buying population has a larger penis than the Japanese condom buying population.
