M3 E36 *upgradable yes/no*

A friend asked me bout the E36 m3 and its performance ability and ease of modification.

i basically told that person to keep it stock and that it would cost prohibitive to turbo or supercharge this kinda of car. That most the upgrades should be basic bolt ons and mostly just that person becoming a better driver.

Anyone else have experience w/ the E36 that person who needed that advice is sumwhere lurking round here too.

also i commented that it'd be ricey to paint the BMW any funky color.
