Yeah I kinda agree with wylin. If you can afford a 110G+ car, you mind as well shell out a little more and get the AMG.

I'm car shopping now, although I have a general low and high price range, just kinda brain storming at the moment. I am looking at:

Honda S2000 (I think I am too old for this car and not practical for me, but it looks hot)
Mercedes C32 AMG (Might go with this one, not sure)
Mercedes E55 AMG (Might be kinda out of reach, depends on what financing plan I get).
BMW M5 (still researching this one, probably also depends on what financing plan I get)

Probably gonna wait till years end to make the purchase.

I'd get a car on the lowend. but fast like the G35 coupe or sedan w/ 6 speed manual coming in the end of the year. Its around low 30k range and u wont have to stress about being so broke buying a hyper expensive car. I considered the s2000 and still love the car when i was car shopping...my spur of the moment decision to turbo my car nixed my chances of getting a new car till early next year... S2k or 350Z would be the inexpensive sports car choice for you.

also M5 and AMG55 are discontinued atleast for 1 yr or so because the Eclass and 5-series have been redesigned all ur gonna see is the E320 and E500 and 525/530/545i next year. no midsize sedan motorsports or amg models till atleast 2004.

Why not m3?

Wylin, thanks for looking out and the info.

The reason for those cars, is that I am kinda old to be souping up my cars, but I still like to feel young in maybe a sports sedan.

OK S2000, a quality car, makes me feel young. But practical reasons, a 2 seater is not really ideal for me.

Looked into the M3, my boy who is a huge car fanatic said it's not worth it for the money plus there is a 6 month wait for it here in NY. Any input from you? And for a little more down and a little more a month, get the M5.

I didn't know they were discountinuing the AMG. I was thinking on saving myself some money and maybe buying last years model? I know there is somewhat of a wait for some of those cars here in NY. Thanks for the heads up man,

I might buy the C32 AMG or the S2000 then by years end, if thats the case.

Yeah I heard about the G35. I huge part of me not wanting the S2000 is, I don't really feel like driving a stick in the middle of NYC.

If I have anymore questions, I'll be sure to also consult the knowledgable folks at YW! But like I said, just brainstorming now, but leaning towards the C32 AMG, let me know how you feel about this one, bro.

well e55 and m5 are probs sold out for the year so that nix's both... both cars had a huge wait list. M5 ceases production and will be replaced by a 450hp F1 derived V10 powered new 5-series bodied m3 in 2004, e55 in thew E-class body gets the SL55's supercharged motor w/ 460bhp+. those are the replacements and will make ppl forget bout the older versions.

C32 amg is an awesome car just make sure u put ur ass on the wait list now! cuz its 6 months from what i heard...and dealers out here are guaging asking like 60k for them and also the m3. The m3 i see as a good balance between the c32 and m5 (stick only) its very fast and sumtimes tho unreliable theres been sum engine rod bearing (spinning wheee) problems and problems w/ the SMG tranny allowing Over Rev to 8500rpm but those 2 should be fixed soon. M3 is one of the best handling cars in the wolrd and but if u want auto the C32 is a better choice for around the same price... its a 4 door sedan and has more posh. M3 is a sports car basically and c32 is a fast sedan hard to compare i been in both and i liked how the m3 handles and dont like all the electronic fun killers the C32 has (m3 has them too just not as apparent) and i dont like the fact w/ the electronics turned off that the c32 is almost undrivable. M3 is quiete different then the m5 the m5 is like a 4 door corvette has grunt and pulls hard all gears, the m3 is a high reving passionate car like the s2000 cept it has 4 seats and SMG (clutchless manual) option.

G35 comes in automatic too right now only automodels are around 32k come on its pretty cheap and i been considering a sedan w/ auto as a daily driver.

Theres a 3rd car to consider if ur lookin at C32 and M3's. the audi S4 returns for 2003 in early 2003. But w/ the new body and big ass motor the S6's 360hp 4.2liter V8 is shoved into the small A4 chassis. for bout 50 k that would be the fastest of the 3 german small cars... 360hp w/ gobs of torque and no problems cuz its neither high reving like the m3 nor forced induction like the supercharged C32.

ever consider the new Jag S-type R the 390hp supercharged S-type for like 60k.

Thanks Wylin. I heard about the S4, will look into that one too.

The Jag looks hot, but I think the Jaguar itself is too old and sophisticated for me. Maybe when I'm in my 40's.

I called the Merecedes dealer after you told me about the waiting list for the C32 AMG today. They said a 4 month wait. And your price quote was right on target. So I probably do some more research and make my decision by the end of August the latest.

Thanks for the info, Wylin.

Yo Wylin,

Decided to get the C32 AMG. Reason: Gave me a kick ass financing plan. Just gotta work out the small details(options etc etc). Car should be here late December.

Good looking out man, thanks for your help and info. You know your shit.

With those choices, I would have opted for the C32 also.

It's a blend of luxury, class, and performance and does not blow up like the M3. I think perhaps the S2000 would be the most fun to drive on twisty roads but the cons would be: stick & NY traffic, no torque, it's a Honda. :D

for luxury? HmM IS430(Darn they don't existS)

Um hm I guess i would go with the M5.
:D

but if it were me I would just want a Skyline

Personally when it comes to this price range, I would go with a Porsche 911 Turbo.

I wouldn't care if I had to sell my house to get this thing, I'd do it. After all, you can sleep in your car, but you can't race your house.

I think looking back why I opted for it was:

1)The Mercedes Dealer I went to gives really good deals to hospital employees

2)My dad said it's a car suited for my lifestyle now and he really, really liked the car. Pops was like why not...you busted your ass for 8 years of college and med school, mind as well have something to show for it.

3)I'm prolly gonna leave it at my parent's when I get it, for now. So my dad can drive it also. Since the man slaved for years putting food on the table and supporting my mom, brother and me. Looking out and always putting us first and he got nuthing to show for it now that he's retired.
