ok, I'm no SWK or anything, but I just googled myself and one or two other members here, and the top or near top search results are in some way connected w/ YW! sometimes the results refer directly to yw.

sniff, there was a time when i desperately searched my name online and couldn't even find a single mention. Thank you, Yellowworld, for making me and countless nameless others famous!

btw i'm not divulging my real name and i would appreciate a similar respect for confidentiality from others. let's just say i don't want people to stalk me unless i can reciprocate. :)

I'm not sure if it's common knowledge, but make sure your name is enclosed in quotes so Google knows it's a phrase and not individual words you're looking for. I've been using my middle initial on everything since college since my name is really common in a certain country that begins with a Ph and all 7 of the results only point to me. It's mostly research work so I don't mind it being out there.

Google's Usenet Archive (http://groups.google.com) turns up some stuff I never imagined would be archived for 10+ years (maybe forever) when I was posting through BBS-to-Usenet gateways. I just assume everything will be archived forever... like these forums. Oops, guess I'm screwed.
