ok seriously. i'm only kidding. i lust all girls that look bootilicious.

Honestly, to me it's about the same with Asiaphiles having slightly more creep factor than hapaphiles. I'm not Asian enough for most Asiaphiles, thankfully. But I think Asian hapaphiles are more in number than non-Asian ones. Though I did lurk on this one board where this one black guy went on and on about Eurasian girls being his little angels of the Orient.

Haha... I once actually pretended to not understand any Japanese to ditch this prick in a club. Now that's a twist; having to pretend I know less Japanese than I do.

Though in all reality, I think I married a hapaphile. Once my husband asked me if guys in Japan know what I am by looking at me. A lot of Japanese guys do, so I told him so. He was really proud of that. He's going to kill me for telling you guys. :)

okay okay . . my justification for going ga-ga over hapa boys is because there are somethings that you just can't express in either one language or another . . .

i used to go out with mainly half Thai/ half caucasian guys because we were able to have less problems communicating our feelings *blah! girly mode!*

that and cuz' they were pretty damn good looking models too

i don't quite comprehend the girls who like any mix of hapa just because they are mixed . . . there sure be a better reason than that . . .

bwahahahahahahaha ... the same reason I stopped dating ABCs and only date 1.5 generation girls now

Seriously, it's the truth. Guys got more problems than girls too, it seems. It took all my life up until last week before I have met one single hapa who could hold a conversation with me without once bringing up the issue of race. May be an unfair generalization but hey, what can ya do. Just don't wanna hear those bitches complaining when someone generalizes them in return.

But, uh... Don't you bring up race a whole lot too?

How do they work it into the conversation, anyway; are you like "Hey, wanna go get a burger at Denny's?" and they're like "Whitey runs Denny's!"?

All the Hapas I have met in person led very sheltered lives where being biracial was never an issue. I've had a Hapa (who was male) make fun of me because he thought I was making up stories about racism so I could feel persecuted. Weird kid.

In real life, I have no particular reason to bring it up beyond "my mother is chinese but can't speak it; i learned chinese from my uncle and my friends." But every damn hapa I meet always thinks I wanna hear about their personal crisis of how white society doesn't allow them to express "both of their cultural identities" or some other nonsense, then you dig a little deeper and find out they're just English monolinguals from the 'burbs who think fitting into an Asian-American clique is the epitome of Asianness.

ABC girls are even worse, they're always obsessed with finding some deeper reason for why I study Chinese and Japanese besides "my friends taught me," they think it's me trying to "outasian" them and take it as a personal offense when I see a friend and call out to him in Cantonese.

Then there was that hapa girl who accused me of denying my cultural heritage cuz I have no clue or desire to find out how much Filipino and Malay admixture my Chinese ancestors have from having lived in those countries for 6+ generations. Damn that was a fun date.

I think these girls just want to date hapas that look like White guys, because it would be more socially acceptable to their parents (because they could make twisted claims that they're Asian) and there would be more of a perceived cultural background. Wasn't this mentioned in an older thread in this forum ?

The word "hapa" did, but not used like it is today. That was started on the west coast. People in HI (at least in my experience) don't actually call themselves "hapa", but hapa something. Hapa Pake (Chinese), hapa Haole (caucasian) is the one you hear more. It started w/ Hapa Hawai'i for a part Hawaiian person..

The dealio in Chicag'o is that most of the Asian gurlies are kinda shy & timid if you step to them, even though I look more Asian than whiteboy (my pops is the Asian one in my familia). Most of the Asian hunnies are either into 100% Asian or 100% whiteboys. They just look at me and go 'Uhhh, which one are you?'

AM/WF should be far more common than BM/AF. At the time of the 2000 census, there were 123,644 AM/WF married couples recorded, but only 27,520 BM/AF married couples.

Yeah, being hapa is not considered a bad thing here, generally. The stereotype is that all are good looking, guys and girls. The new, emerging stereotype, though, seems to be that we're either gorgeous or something goes awry and we're hideous. All or nothin.

I can think of a lot of hapas that aren't model beautiful yet aren't gargolyles, but since when are these things rational.

maybe it's just that more asian men are giving non-asian women a try. honestly, i know maybe one or two asian guys in real life that would actually date non-asian women, and currently i'd say about 95% of my friends are asian. i know a lot more asian women that date asian men exclusively than asian women that date non-asian men exclusively, but in my opinion, if you meet the random white woman in the US, she's more likely to have less hang-ups about dating asian guys than the random asian woman in the US.

As my FOB friend from Malaysia put it, "If I wanted a Chinese girl, I'd find one who's sure she's Chinese, and if I wanted an American girl, I'd find one who's sure she's American. Last thing I need is some American girl who thinks she's Chinese."

Girls seem to have the same thinking, among the people I know. But statistically speaking, it's more common to find US-born Asian guys marrying or cohabiting with foreign-born Asian girls than the other way around, which was something of a shock to my intuition when I first found it out.
