Just a weird theory

Is it just me, or is it in general easier for hapas to grow up female? When you're female and mixed, a lot of people make comments about how beautiful you are and how they love your "exotic" features and what-not. While males on the other hand find that their mixed-race is just another reason for people to give you shit, especially as a child. So, and yes this is just a wild guess, but do you think that in general it's easier for girl hapas than the guys?

i would bet it is easier. and i just realized something weird. i personally know and have met a lot of hapa girls. but i only know of 1 hapa guy. i don't know if thats chance or not. do hapa girls simply advertise their "hapaness" more?

very true.

in all modern-day societies, men dominate.

a foreign/uncommon female will always be more accepted by the male-dominated majority, than her male counterpart.

this is why AFs and AMs sometimes have divergent experiences, and thus develop vastly different viewpoints.

for example, one of my AF friends thinks my WM suitemate is the nicest guy.
this is because he's always on his best behavior with AFs.

My AM friends and I know he's an asshole and a racist, because he reveals this side of himself to us.

Think Marky Mark and China Chow as a prime example of the above.

I wouldn't say that Hapa women are more accepted by monoracials any more than I would say lesbians are more accepted than gays; I think it's just a matter of the stereotype being 'nicer' in both cases. In America, Asian women = hot, so any woman that's part Asian automatically gets hotter, and woman = girly girl, so lesbians kissing = two girly girls kissing. But those are both instances of the majority culture accepting a minority on its terms, not the minority's; a Hapa woman who doesn't want to think of herself as White + pretty or Black + pretty isn't going to have any easier a time of it than a Hapa man.

Treated better in terms of racial stuff, or overall? 'Cause IMO, being mixed and being female might get you more attention from men, but it's not gonna make us stop being the condescending pricks that we are by nature.

I guess if we're talking about a guy with asian fetish then it'd be a plus. But generally speaking; men with no fetish and no racist views won't give any preference to a woman because of race, we'll just show our manners to be polite and if she's hot then we'll treat her even better.

Hey I didn't start this topic to put the spotlight on anyone. It was a legitmate question, because I had noticed some things. For example, I don't remember anyone ever making an insult about sister's bi-racial-ness, they just say something about how pretty her hair is, or something like that. But not with me. I have a couple of other friends who are biracial (though not hapa) and they are all female and all experience the same thing. So I wasn't really trying to turn this into a hapa/asian girl fetish thread, though that's what it's become :lol:
