Have any of you guys done dragon boat racing before? I've done outrigger canoeing with this club (http://www.geocities.com/Pipeline/Dropzone/7575/) before, but I only tried dragon boating for the first time yesterday. The paddling technique is pretty similar, but because you only paddle on one side of the boat, one arm gets a more extensive workout than the other. It's fun. You guys should give it a try.

that sounds like a lot of fun.

BTW, Amietron, I thought you were a KA, not a JA! Not that it matters or anything...

I've read that even if u only train one side of your body, there is a tendency for the other side of your body (i.e. arm or leg) to increase in fitness also. Dun ask me how this works....perhaps in terms of overall fat loss since the body takes fat from you as a whole for energy and not from certain sides of the body or areas although fat loss in men is both most easily gained and lost generally in the stomach area, but I can't see how this could happen if you are talking about an increase in muscle mass or tone.

yeah.. every year there is a huge dragon boat festival in boston. .

winner goes to NY.. and the winner of that goes to HK or something

its like 800 bucks to rent/sign up... so its hard to do with out some kind of sponsor.. though with like 20 rowers, its only 40 bucks a person... so i guess its not that bad
