Matsui (Yankees) just hit a grand slam today (4/8) and is batting .290

Choi (Cubs) has 1 homerun and is batting .357 so far.

Way to slay those stereotypes that Asians can only pitch!

These 2 guys plus Yao Ming! What a fantastic year it's been for Asians in sports.

the best thing? it's only gonna get better and better. there's so many prospects in Asia now for both MLB and the NBA.

Here's a good article about Matsui's grand slam...

I'm so happy, I think I'm going to cry.

haha yea go Matsui. Choi should do 280-20-80 this yr. Now the only thing left is for Asian American ballplayers to dominate, then i'll be satisfied, for a while.

Screw that! I like to see the Mets dominate. But speaking of Asian ballers, Jae Weong Seo had a decent start against montreal (would have won if not for Benitez). Tsuyoshi Shinjo is so-so in his occasional starts.

You guys don't have the benefit of hearing these guys talk, since they don't do interviews on ESPN because of the language barrier.

Shinjo is a pompous cocky asshole.

Does Benny Agbayani still play for the Mets? He was with them when they went to the WS in 2000. I believe he's of a Filipino and Samoan descent, who grew up in Hawaii.

Lenny Agbayani is on contract with the Kansas City Royals, but he's not a part of the 25 man roster.

All three full-time Asian position players are still doing well. Yeah!

Ichiro: around .280 with 1 homer

Matsui: over .300 with 2 homers

Choi: .250 with 2 homers

Don't know about Shinjo.......

Both Matsui and Choi still doing great!

Matsui is batting .304

Choi is batting .300

Ichiro seems to be in a slump (for him), batting around .260,
but I'm sure he'll return to form.
