Murphy's Law, maybe if we all stop looking we'll start to get job offers

If it's real jobs, I'm still in College. If it's part-time jobs, then all my life because the only ones I know of here are fast food restaurants and gas stations which I dislike and don't care about. I'd like to make money that I can live off of rather than just for experience. As for experience, I've had voluntary work and/or those freelancing type 'jobs' which might not be 'legal' lol.

My friend and I have a small IT consulting business. We had gone 4 mos. without a project and no billable employees. That sucked. Now we are just in week 2 of having no revenue.
*sigh* Sometimes I wish that enron thing was kept under. Folks in Houston are hurtin' badly from it, especially the ones who deal with energy companies like me.

me too, and probably I would have end up working for them right after college.
Also the zbusiness College from UT Austin went from 5th in the nation to 20th because of the loss of Enron

AhaHAHAHAHHa *SmoOCh*
ever since graduation i've always been employed.
just varies on how demanding the job is. if i leave
a job, i always have something i can fall back on
right away. i've been headhunted by a couple
companies the past two years, mostly in the
automotive sector and some offers are still open.
but i like what i'm doing down.

I also used to have friends in high places, but after Enron collapsed and all hi tech companies went down....I have nothing

Enron collapse is like a domino effect. Energy companies like dynergy, williams, elpaso, and duke got him pretty hard. It sucks when all of these companies have offices in Texas, especially in Houston. Well those are just energy companies. WorldCom and the rest got nailed from their accounting practice just like Enron.

What you mean that your degree from a top 10 CS progam in America means so little that connections and fitting in are most important ? Makes me what to take the next plane and get a degree where it'll actually mean something. On a side note, good luck.

well you know how things are right now, 4 years ago I could post my resume at monster and then wait for the highest bidder to contact me, but nowdays no matter where you graduate from it's kinda hard to find something unless they hook you up.
I've actually thought about going for an MBA in Korea or just study architecture in Sydney, but the litle problem is that I have no money so I guess I better get my ass to work on something.
Thanks for wishing me luck, I'll need lots of it.

for 2 of the 3 jobs i've gotten since graduation, i got them because somebody at the company went to the same school that i did, and they noticed it on my CV.
i can't wait to get my alumni directory in the mail.
