I just thought about tetris as a metaphor for communism. I mean it was invented near the end of the Soviet Union by a russian.
Explanation:
All the different shaped pieces come together to (hopefully) form perfect, straight, uniform lines. Individualism of each piece fades as it becomes part of the whole.
However, the longer it goes, the more pieces that come, and the faster they go. Pretty soon, the system begins the breakdown! Things are out of control, and lines stop forming, until you just can't continue any longer.
The lines disapearing could represent the population purges by the dictators.

actually, i think in marx's original conception, a state of communism (as opposed to a communist state, which wouldn't exist in Marxism) would allow every person to maximize his individual potentiality by getting rid of division of labor, and allowing people to fulfill their creative needs.
whereas capitalism, in the Marxian conception is where individuality is completely lost because everyone, including the capitalist, is just a clog in the machine fulfilling his or her one narrow function.

grand theft auto is a metaphor for social darwinism in that only the fittest and strongest survive

super mario brothers shows the complex interaction of invidualism versus conformism.
super mario brothers shows that people come in all sizes (big or small) and colors (red overalls, brown shirt, brown mustache; or white overalls, green shirt, green mustache).
but should they succumb to the fire flower of conformity, they lose all individuality and all dress alike (white overalls, red/orange shirt and mustache) and begin to destroy those with less power (i.e. goombas and koopa troopas). almost despotic, eh?

wait im wrong, i believe grand theft auto is more nihilism in that no matter what u do, the consequences can never truly kill u, and you are the only one who cant die, as if it were groundhogs day.
