Trying to hate the Yankees but....

Ask me any year of the last 24 years and this lifelong Orioles fan (through good and bad times) would have told you that I HATE THE YANKEES WITH A PASSION!

But this is getting harder and harder to be able to say.

I'd always hated them until they picked up the Orioles' Ace, Mussina a few years back. I love Mussina, so even though he is in pinstripes, I can't hate him after toiling all those years with the team that can never get beyond third in the division in their good years (except in 1996 and 1997, when they made the wildcards twice).

Then they picked up Giambi, who I began to love after his succes with the A's AGAINST the Yankees (even tho they eventually lost the Div Series against them, I knew Giambi was the bomb...)

Then watching Matsui here in Japan, I began to love him, his personality, and humility in interviews, etc.

And now he's in pinstripes too.

My fantasy team has 3 pitchers from the Yankee rotation, their main closer, their replacement closer, Giambi and Matsui. My sucess in the fantasy league largely depends on the Yankees, as 7 of my players come from the Yankees.

How can I hate them anymore?

But I want to hate them, they are the reason why Baseball is lopsided right now...

Don't do it. Don't cross over to the dark side. Steinbrener and the Yankees are going to ruin the game with their unfair tactics. They must always be opposed. You can hope your individual players do well, but always hope that the Yankees as a team do NOT succeed.

Shinjo is an asshole. He totally sucks, and he acts like he is the shit. The personification of a self promoting cocky professional athlete. Ichiro and Matsui are so much better.

I like the Phillies...the Yankees are evil, the Mets are scum, and the Braves are the enemy.

Oh...the Cards have a guy named So Takaguchi. The Expos have Tomo Okha and Sun Woo Kim. Don't forget Sasaki and Hasagewa for the Mariners and Jae Seo and Jung Bong of the Mets. Let's see...Hideo Nomo and Chin Feng Chen of the Dodgers...umm...Chin-Hui Tsao of the Rockies (I butchered that). There's also a stud Chinese (I'm pretty sure) OF in the Mariner system in AA (Shin-soo Choo) and a promising Korean pitcher in the Phillies system in AA (Seung Lee). Bruce Chen.

I'm missing loads of people here, I know.
