how many macophiles are on yw, this is scary...
keep in mind that this is NOT, i repeat NOT a pc is better than mac or mac is better than pc thread. it's purely to see the number of mac owners and pc owners. i don't care what you use at work, what do you have at home?

i've been thinking about getting a mac, because the shell sits on top of a unix OS now. which should make it very robust. also, with a windows emulator, you can run microsoft apps on it.

Own an Apple PowerBook.
Use both Mac and PC at work.
PCs are more practical for what? MS Office is available for Mac. Can't think of anything else MS makes that I would want from them.

PC..........More flexible
I've got a PC here at home. But my office must be one of the only law firms that're Mac based. Ugh.

Macs rule. PC's are too unstable.
For a PC to be more stable MSN actually needs to own more of the PC. Unlike Apple, MSN is only the OS (sometimes the software being run) but never the hardware. Apple on the other hand, owns both the hardware and software and OS system so its near-crash proof. Of course, you don't want to run an older Mac using IE5, that's like running a PC with Win 95 when you have Office 2000, you're bound to get bugs (but never any crashes).
MSN will probably not continue making Office for Mac later on. They are losing money on it. However, MSN will continue to offer licensing agreements with Apple in order for Apple to make its products more compatible with PC's. If you're complaining about a Mac, you've never used one . . . or you've been brainwashed.

I have always used Macs at home. It is better for everything except when you want to download certain sharewares that work only on PCs.
Haven used a mac in months now tho, since I am in Japan and use only computers at work and at PC rooms.

Actually no, Office for Mac is alright for price but they still are losing money due to they could be making a lot more money from PC's then Mac's. Apple had to "co-produce" Office for Mac in order for it to look like a Mac product and so it would be smooth on a Mac. Its like that for most Mac software. Apple has a lock on what goes on, but if something does come from a 3rd party software company, Apple has to send "advisors" to tinker with it, in order for things to go smooth.
Dont' get me wrong, i love mac, but Steve Jobs is a Communist Slut.

I have one PC and 2 ibooks. One toilet seat cover model and the other the 14 inch screen model. I've networked all three computers with a wireless lan (802.11b, apples airport), so now my roomates and I all have broadband in our seperate rooms. It was such a cinch to do it was ridiculous. Filesharing from mac to mac is super easy too, in fact everything just seems easier on a mac.

I love PCs. But cuz I'm a Graphic Design major, I will eventually have to move to Macs. I think that Mac OS 10.2 is a really great looking OS. XP is cool, but it kinda looks plain compared to Macs.

Use Macs for work. Use PCs for games.
Emotionally attached to Mac though.
