I have to be in Florida but I would have loved to be there... eating my FRENCH FRIES (http://www.cnn.com/2003/ALLPOLITICS/03/11/sprj.irq.fries/index.html) and enjoying my FRENCH TOAST (http://www.cnn.com/2003/ALLPOLITICS/03/11/sprj.irq.fries/index.html) while having a FRENCH KISS with my wife!!!
BTW if you read the article, now you know why other nationals despise Americans... cause them republicans need to grow up!

I went to the one in LA even though it was pouring. My friend and I ended up marching in front of a Filipino group marching for troops to get out of the Phillipines and behind a Mexcan American group. The turnout and the energy of the crowd was great. We were all soaked pretty much from head to toe-- some ppl even gave up holding umbrellas. I was super wet, with my jeans sticking to my legs and my shoes full of water, but my sign was well protected and stayed dry :D . I also signed the petition against the US Pat. Act II.
THE SF MARCH:
Several people I know went to the one in San Francisco and gave me an account of what happened there. The big news there is that the SFPD arrested nearly 200 ppl (illegally). The nutshell: there was a breakaway march (peaceful) The SFPD told everyone to get out of the street, which most people did by getting on the sidewalk. Many people tried to leave via the sidewalk at that point, but it was kinda hard since there was a crowd and the police started moving in on them and ultimately created a blockade. Then the SFPD told people to disperse from the sidewalk, but police had already blocked people in, so the folks on the sidewalks could not get out, and when people tried, they were pushed back and cornered. This included regular pedestrians, tourists and shoppers. Police then declared the folks on the sidewalks as an "illegal assembly" and arrested 175 people. Willie Brown did the same thing years ago at Critical Mass. People were told to disperse and not allowed to disperse. They were then arrested without reason. I was an eyewitness. He is one of the most corrupt SF mayors ever.

funny how anti war protestors are usually the ones that get arrested while pro war protestors are actually less violent....

er?
The one in SF was peaceful. There was not violence at that one, nor was there violence at the LA one.

then why was I watching the news about the protest in SF with over 1000 protestors getting arrested today? That is just today. 126 arrested in SF on 3/15. 115 arrested in DC 3/12. 82 in NYC in front of the UN 3/12.
Kind of odd that anti war people are a little violent isn't it?
