I have noticed a trend in this forum. Basically someone rephrases the question "Tell us about your hapa experience." (Think about it, almost all of the questions directed at hapas are either focused upon one aspect of the hapa experience or all of it in general.)

Then the 12 or 13 of us on here say what our experience is like we are the center of attention. Then after all the mixed people have showed how unique they are, the thread dies.

What is up with that.

well i don't know... i mean it's a hapa forum, isn't that by definition pretty much how it's supposed to work?

Yea maybe we should just delete the Hapa forum altogether to promote equality and to avoid singling out certain people, and replace it with a bad joke section :)

I'm not quite sure I understand what you're complaining about.

I noticed tho that on this board there were not divisions like Korean, chinese, Japanese etc, like on other boards. I think this is a good thing, because one communities issues will be read by all in the rant room or whatever room. If there was somehting labled "Chinese" I might not try to go in there.

I think it is certainly possible that some ASians here see "Hapa" and don't think twice about skipping over it.

Yeah, I suppose it's 'special' treatment, butpersonally, I always felt that it was a forum to welcome and encourage Hapas to post.

Other websites I've been to haven't been so receptive to mixed-Asian -- and those are the ones I've skipped over

well... theres a womens forum to discuss womens issues...
and like theres a men's forum to discuss about men's issues...

same things with this hapa forum... its focused on discussing those issues that hapas face...

but i thought thats what the hapa forum is all about.... for the mixed asians on this site to share their own experiences... i dont get what your so uptight about...

you want more NON hapas to participate??

This reminds me of being the only haafu family in our Japanese school. Or the only Japanese in our American school.

I was often treated as an outcast, and that made me feel bad. But eventually I discovered that I am the best of both worlds. I mean, who the hell else can speak Japanese AND American? I'm pretty special.
