gotta go with chicken! i can't really eat the other kinds of ramen cause they're just more artificial tasting. that's for the kind that you get in the rectangular shaped bricks. not a big fan of cup o'noodles, but i like the chinese ones that come in the styrofoam bowls, cause they give you the extra spices/oil stuff to make it taste better.

i boil the noodles separately and then add the little flavoring packet last...

people like to eat the noodles uncooked. ive never had it but supposedly it tastes like chips.

I like the fresh ones that they sell in the frigurator section at the japanese mart. miso, and tonkotsu flavor. I love getting hayashi chukka the cold noodles, with sesame sauce, so good

I'm eating some Top Ramen now...Sappiro Ichiban is normally my noodles of choice, but I was too lazy to go to the market...

does anyone here actually do the measurements that they list on the back of the packet? i know one of my friends busts out the measuring cup and does it EXACTLY like they say on the back. i never really understood how he could not figure out that you didn't actually have to use that amount. but maybe that's just me.

I usually get whatever brand is on sale. The different between 10 cents a pack and 15 cents is HUGE! Throw in some won tons, lemon grass and srirracha and it's all good.

I consider myself a connoisseur of ramen cuisine; I spit in the face of all other ramens.

I like Shrimp flavored Mama brand. Yummy. I toss on a pot of hot water, toss in the noodles, open all the included packets and dump em all in. I add fish balls (balls made from fish, not their nuts), then when it's almost done I toss in an egg. Before the egg is hard poached, I mix it all up. Yummy!!!! I'm real bad about adding veggies, so much better without!

I eat any kind from Sappiro Ichiban to Top Ramen. Like Tawee, I also throw an egg and mix it in!! Makes it so much better. http://images.mr2faq.com/images/smilies/drool.gif

I used to try to make gourmet Ramen in college. Make it with eggs, veggies, meats all sorts of things.

We'd also make it, then dry it and stir fry it.

My favorite simple way is throwing the egg in and stirring.

Good stuff.

Everyone loves the eggs? Not too many people in favor of the fish balls? LOL, I remember having my Jewish friend over for lunch once when we were kids. He took a bite of a fish ball and was like "this meat ball tastes funny" :gross: . I told him it was made of fish, and he scooped them all out and finished the soup without em. I laughed my ass off!

I love fish/shrimp/beef/lobster balls in ramen, but kinda hassle to come by. My current ramen of choice is the kimchee noodles in a bowl.

Gotta stock up on the udon when it goes on sale here.

Don't think I've ever seen the Sappiro Ichiban brand here before, gotta check it out...

I can't remember the brand I had last.. I got it from the Japanese market. All I know is that it said "oishii" on the front and damn it was. My friend usually gets this korean kind that comes in a rectangular styrofoam box thingy. I just mooch off of him, even though the little pieces of "chicken" taste REALLY weird. :)

Actually, cold soba rules, especially with soy sauce and wasabi!

Tasty for another reason: http://www.toprawmen.com/ (http://www.toprawmen.com/) !!!

I like cold ramen, I like Nissin and Sapporo Ichiban yakisoba, Tung-I onion flavor and on occasion one of those ultra-MSG'd Nong Shim kim chi instant bowls. Bought a new water heater this year. It has a button for instant noodle timer. Talk about bells and whistles.

I go w/ either Shin Ramyun or this one obscure Chinese brand that's really good yet also kinda expensive.

The Korean Nong Shim udon that comes in packs is really good. I use a minimal amount of water and about 1/2-3/5 the spice that comes in the package or else it gets too spicy. Bloody hell. Now I'm getting hungry. I can find that stuff in Chinatown in SF.

my fav ramen is...nu-gu-ri, the spicy kind. it's a korean udon ramen w/ 'seafood' mm yum. or the staple, shin ramyun...

for the top noodle kind..urh..or whatever brand.. I liked chicken chili..

i also like those korean cup noodle things...but there are so many kinds of those, i dont even know what's good anymore
