(I don't know if this goes in here, but I think it does).

Has anyone in here heard of FAITHS? Or is a part of it? The pastor from my church (I guess you can say that because I'm part of a program there) gave me the applications for it. He said he got it late so they extended the date for us. And I'm going to apply, but I'm not necessarily going to get in. But if I did, I'm really looking forward to it. Anyone want to share about it?

Blah. I can't edit this topic. Anyway, I'm applying and filling out the application right now, and I'm really stuck on it. It's not like the questions are hard, but I'm having writer's block right now or something. And I don't know how to describe myself. Wheneven I hear that, I think that I'm being conceited. HELP?!

Some helpful pointers
Remember that these essays will represent you to the review team that will make decisions about who to select and interview. The team includes Foundation and FAITHS Initiative staff, youth leadership experts, and former participants of the leadership training (people like you!). Please be specific, be thorough, say what you feel, and be creative. What we are looking for here is not a "right answer," but an answer in your voice. Your responses to the four questions below should fit on 3-4 typed pages, double spaced (11-pitch font).

1. Describe yourself. What is your vision for community?
2. What do you see as challenges to race relations in your community (school, neighborhood, congregation, peers, etc.)?
3. What qualities do you think you have that can help improve opportunites for young people in the Bay Area?
4. What skills do you think you would need to become a leader in your community?
