KOREAN AMERICAN PEACE FORUM
on March 5, 2003
Expert on US-Korea affairs SELIG HARRISON has been invited to discuss the recent developments with North Korea and possible paths the Bush Administration should pursue to peacefully resolve the nuclear crisis.
HARRISON is a former Washington Post Bureau Chief in Northeast Asia and South Asia and the author of five books about Asian affairs. He served as Senor Fellow and Director of Asian Studies at the Brookings Institution and, for twenty-two years, as a Senior Asssociate of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. He has visited North Korea seven times and met the late President Kim Il Sung twice. He played a key role in setting the stage for the 1994 US nuclear freeze agreement with Pyongyang. His most recent publication is "Korean Endgame: A Strategy for Reunification and US Disengagement" (Princeton UP, 2002).
