The next time you go home to visit your parents or grandparents, do them a favor and go through their cabinets and throw out old medicine. They won't want it thrown out, they'll think it is perfectly good to use and they might give you a hard time about being wasteful, but do it anyhow.
No one needs aspirin from 1987 or Tylenol with Codeine from the early 90s. Don't let them toss various pills together in a big Ziploc for long term storage either.

Yeah, I found a lot of medicine lying around in the drawers, cabinets, refridgerator. There were other non-medical relics too. I found a tin of coffee from 1985. Unopened.

Wow. Crazy stuff. Yeah. My grandparents do that. My parents used to do that. Even the prescription ones, too. That's bad. My parents do have expired vitamins though.

ROFLMAO This thread is too funny, because my brother and our mother was ready to throw down this weekend. My brother was looking for something to munch on in the fridgerator when he spied some old medicine and looked like it was regenerating it self. He takes it out, trashes it away and says, "Hey mom, I throw out some old medicine." My mom yells from the den, "Since you so damn grown, take my medicine out the garbage, wash it off and put it back! You want to throw something away, throw away those expired condoms in your room!"
