The Bush White House is aggressively promoting war on Iraq, against
the advice of its diplomats, and without strong support from Congress,
the American public, or our allies.

Please join me in signing an online petition to oppose a war that would
likely undermine both national and world security. Let’s show our
representatives that they have strong public support to stop this war.

If you join me in signing today, your comments will be hand-delivered
to your Senators as part of a national day of action on August 28th.
Constituent meetings are being organized with Senate offices everywhere.

Sign the petition at:

Where were the peace protesters when Clinton sent troops into Bosnia, Haiti, Somalia, etc, etc, etc ????? Maybe this petition is not about the possibility of war but protest aimed at President Bush .... If you protest one, you should protest all .....

I remember when Opinion Journal's Best of the Web Today linked Not in Our Name's petition. All the sudden there were several hundred joke signatures on it. Funny stuff.

do you guys think the way you do because you fail to absorb all the information?

you overlooked this: "These threads are to be kept debate-free. If you have a gripe about a particular topic, raise the roof in the Rant Room."

Good luck, but I don't think a petition will do very much at all.
