These characters are a take off on The Silver Surfer and Green Lantern.

I always wondered how exactly Green Lanterns fly through space. Alright, the ring encases them in protective green energy. This would explain combating the extreme cold of space, as well as maintaining pressure in a vacuum, and the propulsion mechanism. It still doesn't explain where the Green Lantern would obtain oxygen to continue breathing.

Anyway, looks great. Really dig the features on Midori -- the belt, boots, texture, etc..

Since a green lantern's ability's are dependant on there will power i always figured the ring translated that into some kind of kennetic energy to propell the GL through space.

The breathing thing is probby an effect of the ring itself as well.
As long as it has power it can produce oxygen or whatever gas that particular GL needs to breathe.

that's really great! the characters look fantastic, incredible detail. but i really love the Earth (that's Earth right?) in the background.
What program did you use for this?

Actually it is a random planet.
I was going to render a 3D earth but got lazy so instead I used a photoshop plugin called Lunarcell by Flaming pear

It generates incredably realistic earth-like planets

Very nice... :) I'm definitely liking Midori.

I never was fond of the Silver Surfer... I don't really get how someone comes up with the idea of the Silver Surfer.

"Duuude, surfboards are cool. But, duude, you know what would be cooler? Surfboards in space, man... word..."

But, totally, that image is awesome.
