Nice. Was it shaped like a fish hook on purpose?

Cool. What kind of block did you use? Linoleum?

Yup. Linoleum.

AB, it just so happens to be the shape of a fish hook. It filled the space more nicely than a linear sperm.

For my second one, I'm having a man inside the sperm. But no words. It's too comical. Extra spermies to take up space instead.

Cool. Looks like a 4x6" block? Really look forward to seeing the followup =)

When I was a poor student I used Staedler erasers to save money. I'd slice them into 1/8" slabs and get lots of material to work with. Only downside is that they are much softer and tend to be more brittle/crumbly than linoleum. Hrmm how would I go about attaching images to messages?

Some of the other students actually iron over the linoleum block beforehand so it's softer. I much prefer the harder surface. You get a much smoother cut.

In middle school we used a gray colored harder linoleum, I think. The ones we use now are tan/orange colored and they seem softer than the gray ones we worked with back then. I don't know much about block printing, but I really enjoy it. This is only my third block printing project I've done. The first two projects both consisted of 2 blocks each.

Glad to find another enthusiast. =)

Despite also being an enthusiast of sperm, I too am unselfish and selfless enough to share it with others.

In all seriousness, good job =)

Oh my goodness. You know what'd be SUPER cool? Using 2 blocks. On one I could carve either a face or a body or even an eye. Or multiple ones. And on another one, I could carve splotches of sperm. HAHAHA. That'd be funny. SHOT in the FACE!

That's so cool, ism! How do you carve with a straight blade? isnt that difficult?

It's more tedious than difficult. I usually take two strokes at an angle to dig out a wedge (like a V-blade would do). Sometimes I'd just lop off chunks at an angle. The holes, yeah, I guess that's difficult... would involve 4+ strokes. I think you can make out what I did in the pictures.
