I actually find british accent really hard to understand. I never got used to hearing it, even from HKers. most of my HK friends in my high school went to american international schools before coming to the US, so they had an American accent. or a few went to Cantonese-medium schools and spoke with an HK accent, which to me doesn't really sound all that british despite their claims that they're following British standards. besides they kept speaking Cantonese to me all the time even when I couldn't catch what they were saying. bastards.

But anyway, so if I go on a date with some girl with a British accent, it just gets really awkward and annoying cuz I can't understand her and gotta keep asking "what was that?"
