Sorry to make this post LA-centric, but I wanted to know...:

Okay, since I've only got a gazillion war stories of what everything was like six months ago, can someone please tell me what's new with the scene...? My impression is that, compared to two years ago, it's died down considerably.

I know some of the basics. I know Crystal closed a while back. Red has moved over to Arena on Santa Monica Blvd. Based on the emails I get from them, Spundae is still going strong. Has Giant found a permanent home and weekly schedule? Speaking of which...I wonder if the club owner at Giant (what's-his-name) isn't kicking himself now for not compromising more with Arena to have Giant stay there. For a brief time, they had the best club in the country, and then it was all politics politics politics... (and money).

Most of you probably have never heard of Insomniac (and you are well to remain ignorant of that place:P) but I have a nagging feeling that it's still around -- still ghetto, still incense-ridden, still boiling on the dance floor.

A friend of mine just opened a club at Red's old location called "4U"...yes, cheesy name and it opened a few weeks ago but since I was chained to my desk in my bedroom, was unable to check it out. Has anyone else been there yet...?

A-a--are there any ravers at all left...?? 8O

Well, what sorta temporarily killed the scene for me was a combination of our after-hours crew separating and going in every other direction, along with the notion I had that the scene just wasn't sooooo happy-go-lucky anymore.

Partying a lot can have some very dire consequences on your body, and towards the end of my run, I started seeing how the mood began to shift a lil from, "OH MY GOD I'M ROLLING...HOW ARE YOU HOW ARE U HOW ARE YOU?" to "i'm rolling. keep you and your hand massages away." On top of that, the comedown from e can be such an emotional bummer for some people, and when you string together a bunch of consecutive months that you've dropped at least once, the comedown just seems to last longer...
