I'm 5'3" or 5'3 1/2" I think. I might've grown half an inch since last time I checked, which was a long while ago. Being short sucks, but I don't seem to care much. As long as I'm not a midget.

I'm 4' 10" and i kinda hate it at times. Like i feel i dont get enough respect or attention from others. Like ppl see me as a kid. Like when I went shopping for my digital camera... the worker.. they went about helping all the other customers.. but they skipped me. I had to ask for help. Or even my work experiences/school... i feel a lot of ppl overlooked me when it comes to asking for my opinions on things...

i dunno.. sometimes i feel like i have to put in extra effort to be louder, and put in extra effort to assert myself more... as opposed to the more taller, visible folks.

and on a side note... when it comes to parades.. i always have to be in the front.. or else i cant see crap if i'm behind everyone else... or when i go grocery shopping.. i can never reach the top shelf.... i always have to freaking ask someone to help me... and like in my apt in my kitchen... i can only reach the bottom shelf on my own, but i need to use a step stool if i wanna reach the top shelf of my cuboard. And in my bathroom... i have to stand on my tippie toes if I wanna see my full face in the mirror.... yeah, i still need to get a small step stool for my bathroom....

yeah, being short just sucks all together :P

And oh yeah,
here's my continued rant on being short...
like in social settings.. ppl always tend to treat me as if i'm like a little child.. as opposed to a 30 year old full grown adult.. like with their tone of voice.. when they speak to me...

and oh yeah, like on thanksgiving day.. you got the kiddies table, and then the adult table... and sometimes.. the adult table may get too crowded.. so who gets bumped into sitting at the kids table.... ME!! And well yeah.. the kids make better company than the adults.. but thats not the point!!!

For me, I think it has to do less with being female, but more with being short... when it comes to how ppl tend to treat me...

lack of authority is always a prob when you're short. not that it always happens, but it tends to happen to short people more than tall...

i admire heather locklear because she can command so much attention despite her height.

>> 5'1"!!!! woop woop...i AM king kong.

>> yes i get made fun of a lot for my height. ive heard all the names: smurf, munchkin, oompa loompa, midget, etc... and you know what i do when they're calling me these names?...i imagine us both standing on top of a moving bus...we're going under an overpass and the vertical clearance is only big enough so i can get through unscathed because of my shortness...all the tall people...they dont see it coming and soon either get decapitated or knocked unconscious...PUAHAHAHA... 8O

>> *ahem*...but anyways, other than the occasional short jokes i dont mind being short...i never have a problem finding a guy taller than me, although buying clothes is a bother...Guess clothes are made for tall skinny girls...damn them to hell...and when i feel like being a little taller ill put on the 4" heels... :D ...short is cool...short is cute...talk to me like a kid and ill kick your shin!!

oye ill never ever find jeans that fit. either the waist is too big and the length is juss rite (i love em reallie long) or the waist fits and theyre too short...i once spent like $120 having a pair altered and they fit me perfectly...but alas my beloved jeans wore out. *sob*

hey k...i know it doesn't apply to me...but i wanted to give a flip side after i read all the hating of shortness here....

i'm 5'10 1/2"...truely sucks, 'cause

you can take jeans up but you can't add material

..."hey, how's the weather up there?"

most guys like their dates to be shorter than them...protective thing i guess

no 4" heels for me

petite? what's that

"no, i'm sorry, our lengths only go to 34 inches"

i drive an SUV, do you know what a pain in the a-- it is to get down into a car

"gosh your so tall, you should be a model" ...grumble...

always in the back when it's a group picture...

I know that being short can be a problem in sports such as blocking in volleyball, basketball, etc, etc, but I guess it doesn't make a good excuse for complete lack of skill  I stopped using that excuse a long time ago. 5"3 by the way...hahaha kasia  ! muwahahaha

I don't know what it's like to be short, but what i hear from my mom is that it sucks :?

I'm the tallest female in my nuclear family and I'm just 5'4" (without shoes). My mom's 4'11", my grandmother's 4'9" or 4'10' give or take, and my dad's the same height as I am. hehe.... I'm not sure if I apply to this thread, but it depends where I am and who I'm with at what point in time. i've honestly never been told that I was short. I was told that I was tiny by this Caucasian highschool student a week or so ago, but I didn't give it much thought. Actually, people tell me I'm average, but usually, I'm one of the shorter people at school, but it has its perks. You get to take a group picture with yourself and your friends in the front while others are smashed and blocked in the back I guess. Perhaps, I'm being a tad narcissistic here. hehe.... Sorry. I'm trying to be positive here! Whether that's working is another issue. :D Plus, I think being short can still be beautiful. It's a matter of how you look at it... "glass half empty or half full." 5'4" short... 5'4 tall... whatever's clever.
