Hiddink is not going to come back and coach the Korean team. This new guy, Coelho has been named Korea's new coach, and well personally I think he is screwed unless he can win the WC in 2006. Hiddink took the team to 4th place and ducked out, but had he stayed in and fared worse in 2006, people would still love him because of how his team did in 2002. Coelho is gonna be fucked if he can't do any better. People are so fickle that they are simply gonna kill this guy if the team is less succesful than before.

Really? I thought people would recognize that this was a Cinderella-type season, one that probably wouldn't be topped. Why didn't they hire a Korean coach?

They were planning to use a Korean coach who was part of Hiddink's staff but axed him after he could only take the Asian games team to 3rd place. (Oh how horrible) The original plan was to have a Korean coach with Hiddink doing some advising. But now in Asia, foreign coaches are all the rage I guess.
In 2006 I think Korea will lose as soon as they reach the 2nd round, depending on who they play against in group play and the luck of the draw.
As for the Cinderella season, yes, the world knows that Korea made it that far because of Luck (Italy), Bad Officiating (Italy, Spain, Portugal), 12th Man support, a world cup where giants like France and Argentina had their shoelaces untied, and of course, skill. But Koreans want to believe that it is pure Korean power or superiority that made it possible for them to get that far.

12th Man support...
Are you referring to the guy who offed himself so he could be the team's spiritual 12th man? (lol j/k)
At any rate, Coelho is a quality coach. His biggest problem will be finding replacements for the team's back 4. Korea has MF and Forward talent for years.

I personally don't think that was very fair. For one thing, they lost on a shootout, when one kicker shot the ball over the crossbar. You can't blame the coach for losing a game like soccer. The scoring doesn't happen that often. One team can dominate the whole game and still lose because the other team gets lucky.
Besides, Iran took the gold. It's okay if you lose to the eventual champions...

While we're at it, people in the know, which country do you think has the strongest soccer (football) league? I'd say it's Spain's La Liga.

I don't know, but the Premier League and Serie-A are pretty strong I'd say.
As for non European Leagues here's how I would Rate them
Mexico
J-League
MLS
K-League

If you wanna speak british english then go aghead and make all those other changes. Everyone knows what you are talking about when you say Soccer, so soccer is fine.
