I hafta clean my plate every time otherwise my future wife will be ugly, I know this is true because when I was seven years old, my parents said so.

I also eat the most late at night at 3-4 am in the morning when everyone is either sleeping or too tired to hang out with me. Fried chicken with pancake syrup and pancakes with ketchup taste good when you have insomnia.

Haha! My parent's told me this of my future husband! And for each grain of rice you leave, those will equal pox and acne scars...

No weird habits during eating, but after I eat, I automatically do all the dishes. I also put left-over food in tupperware containers - color coded - with labels on them telling the date it was bought/made, by whom it was made, and an expiration date I pick out because I hate hate hate old food. :gross:

When I was little, I wouldn't let my food touch.

heh...my mom told me if u don't finish your rice, i'd be really poor when i grow up...heh..weird habits? ummm, i ALWAYS take leftovers home from restaraunts...hmmm, back when i first got outta from brainwashing-errr, basic training, i'd put eat super fast, no conversations, and eyes on food...oh yeah, and "heels together, makes the food taste betta!"

-heh, i remember they would only allow us to use a SPOON for EVERYTHING...their theory: "you got no time to cut and pick..you just 'scarf' it down." heh, guess they were right..after 8 weeks of it, it was a 'privledge' to use and fork....

-also, we used to make sandwiches out of anything and everything....put that shit b/w bread and call it a day (spag., eggs, chilli-mac, any and all pastas, etc)

Weird eating habits? I mush all my food together when I'm done with it. Shove it all on one side of the plate so it looks like I ate more than I really did.

sorry, just got back from a 2 day trip to a spa in Japan....soooo relaxing...enough gloating.

Yes, my parent's are from Taiwan. Great memory Taz!

I lived in an apt. with 4 other girls so we cooked for everyone, hence the leftover food. We took turns cooking. Plus I stop eating once I get full and don't try to force myself to eat more - unhealthy so tupperware it is!

Apple, a ton of people in HK have brunch at hotels and they have mimosas and wine and champagne in the morning. It's a great way to start your sundays! :)

i just discovered what an incredibly impulsive eater i am. when i get upset i go for the cookies for comfort. one of these days its gonna come right back to me and bite me in the @$$. the other day i was depressed, so i started in on a 1 lb box of sees candy and before i knew it i was on my last peanut cluster. :(

I'm pretty normal eater, unless you count for the fact that I'll pretty much eat anything. I love all food.

I do have one weird quick when it comes to drinks though. I can't drink out of a bottle or glass that someone else has taken a drink out of. Like if I'm at a bar and someone takes a swig out of my beer, I'll have to get a new one. I hate that question "oh, can I taste?" cause that's akin to "ok, here take my beer". If I'm dying of thirst and you have a soda and I have none, I'll suffer. At best I'll try to pour it into my mouth without touching my lips to it. It's weird I know.

I heard about the finishing every last grain of rice too. My mom also told me how you hold your chopsticks forecasts how far away you will live from home when you get married.

When I was little -- like 5 yrs old -- I ate incredibly slow, it took me like an hour to eat half a bowl of rice. So the adults told me whomever is last at the table will have to clear the table and do the dishes and prepare after-dinner fruit. Been breathing down my food in like 5-10 minutes ever since.

i hate ginger and parsley...absolutely hate it :gross:

my weird thing is when there are these 2 ingredients in food i have to pick every little bit out no matter how small...this usually results in my food going cold but that's better to me than eating a tiny piece of ginger and/or parsley. my parents make fun of me and ask me, "what kind of chinese girl doesn't like ginger and parsley? we have to use it in food so you have to like it." my boyfriend always laughs at me when i pick the parsley out of the stuff his parents cook...
and my sister just loves it so much and she eats it in front of me.
here's other stuff i pick out of my food: celery, lotus root, peanuts, water chestnuts...i'm gonna hurl now

my mom told me about the forcasting how far you will marry with how high up you hold your chopsticks too! My mom also told me that if I don't finish all the rice in my bowl, my face will be scarred with acne and marry an ugly husband and be poor.

I used to be a stranger, picky eater. I used to save the best for last. Even when it comes to burger. My last bite will consist of all the good stuff. And if there are straws, I use it. I always clean anything canned before opening it and use a straw when it comes to canned drinks cuz someone once told me that rats might've peed on it. I'm so gullible but I don't want to take the chance. :D

I like my ramen soggy. Might wanna try LT's idea of pan friend ramen tho
I eat whenever I feel like it (which can be every two hours, depending on what I've been doing all day, whether a whole lot of hours on the b-ball court to just vegging out in front of the television)
I need rice at every meal, if not rice then noodles, if not noodles then, bread, if not bread then potatoes, if not potatoes........:) I need starches....feel so low energy w/o them.....especially with steaks...........-drools- Garlic mash potatoes..............-mega-drools-
I tend to eat each part of my meal until I'm done with that section....like if chicken and rice pilaf and some steamed veggies....I'll kill veggies first, then rice, then chicken....unless it's like family style chinese eating....then I finish a bowl of rice with whatever meat/veggies I get....one type of meat/ veggie per bowl.....and I usually gauge how many bowls I eat by how many side dishes there are and how often I eat the varied side dishes.....
I'd love to get booze in the morning, but I'm slow enough in the day time as it is.....and my brother would prolly down the stuff when I'm not looking so I usually don't bring booze home....

I just noticed that whenever I eat typical Asian meal, it has to have rice, soup, two veggie dishes, and one meat dish, or some multiple of that -- or at least some of each on my plate. Just eating veggie dish or just eating meat dish seems incomplete somehow.

But, say, when I eat Italian, I have absolutely no problem only having meatless spaghetti or eggplant parmesan without any accompaniment whatsoever, even bread.

Just thought about something. Was watching this old Chinese movie where the grandma chews up all the food and feeds it to her grandchildren (under 2 years old), needless to say mother disapproves. Thankfully, this never happened to me, is this real life occurrence or just T.V. drama?
