what's everyone think about this big hit show? they got a female now...(typical, "blonde" one...even though i think she's a fake blonde)...i betcha a white man wins, and us minorities (all of us), aren't even gonna have a chance.... <_< ...let's see how many get on the show in the first place...!!

lethalweapon says that there'll be an asian guy on it
he'll probably get kicked out the first round, but i hope they didn't pick some dorky guy.

Check out the website (http://abc.abcnews.go.com/primetime/bachelorette/index.html).

My gf said she saw an asian guy on the commercial...I looked at the bachelor (http://abc.abcnews.go.com/primetime/bachelorette/bachelors.html) bios and didn't see an easily recognizable one.

Either she meant Billy (http://abc.abcnews.go.com/primetime/bachelorette/bios/billy.html), or I have no idea what she's talking about.

Aaron Buerge from the second Bachelor show is from my hometown. His brother went to the same college as I do and they were both huge huge Asianphiles, which didn't set well with their extremely WASPy, Southern, bible belt parents. Brandon (the brother) used to fly me home from college in their private plane (they both have pilot licenses) and he was really nice. Brandon hung out only with the Asian crown in college and lived with Asians. Aaron on the other hand....yeah....anyone who would do a show like that loses respect in my eyes.

the asian (and the hawaiian) guy didn't make the first round cut
they didn't show much of either after they first met Trista
I guess there was only enough time to show the people she clicked with well

Don't blame the show for not having enough minorities. They pick guys based on the qualities SHE requests. Reality TV, just so you all know, isn't exactly an outlet for the media to be politically correct or to spread awareness.

I agree. Let's be real here -- there aren't any Asians on Springer, either. In fact, I wish there weren't *any* Asians on that retarded show.

I'm still wondering why they chose to go with a girl who'd already been turned down by The Bachelor.

I think the public audience fell in love with her and thought the Bachelor should've picked her. I read that somewhere.

And I'm with you and Angel. I mean I'm sure she had some specifications into the pool of men that was chosen. In essence we are peeping into her love life and it's her choice on whom she decides to pick and date.

Yeah there were some asians on Springer. It was a classic. It was about some guy who owns a dry cleaning shop that enjoys putting on women's clothings and has a secret gay lover despite being married to an asian woman. Goodness, I couldn't stop laughing.

*applauds*

Leave it to Springer to not reinforce stereotypes!

i think the producers instruct the person eliminating people to keep a certain number of minorities on for the first few rounds.

She honestly is, like, the perfect woman. I mean, I'm sure she's got her flaws, but she's like, ideal.

Metaphysical?

I haven't seen the show yet but I did watch her cry along with all the others who got rejected by the Bachelor. It was some surreal talk show to console the women, who seemed really heart-broken by it all, particularly the Bachelorette (although she wasn't really the Bachelorette yet).

Ever get the feeling that your television is going to grow arms one day and strangle you?

She does have a nice body. But not sure about anything else. I never saw any episodes of the Bachelor.

It did bother me that she cried in the end when she had to pick and eliminate some of the contestant pool. I mean come on? When asked why she was crying she said something along the lines of being sad that she has caused hurt and pain for some of the men that weren't picked. I'd mean if I was one of the guys that got dismissed I'd be like: less drama lady, I'll live.

I guess if I was her I'd cry too, for different reasons more like: Sheeeeeeit, less guys to cater to me!

She was crying because she dismissed the Asian guy.
