I think when it comes down to it, we (guys) have to ask ourselves, are you a virgin yourself?? (that is if you care your bride isn't a virgin) I mean, we gotta be fair to females for this. I trust most guys who really expect their brides to be virgins (rather than just say it'd be nice) are either relatively chaste themselves OR, more likely, believed it was a mistake to engage in premarital sex. So it may not be as huge a double standard as you think.

Also a lot of people, like me, are torn by conflicting sides. On the one hand, I think it's romantic for 2 people to share their bodies only w/ each other for their lives, and to have never shared w/ anyone else before. On the other hand...i'm really horny.
