How much soy do you include in your diet? How many soy products do you eat? What's your fave?


I just made my first batch of tofu. :dance:

I love tofu. I can make a kickin spicy tofu dish, fried tofu in black bean sauce, tofu with fish, tofu tofu tofu....yum :)

I like soy milk too, especially with You Tiao.

yum, that must taste wonderful.
homemade tofu, how'd it taste? different from store bought?

i love tofu so much. it doesn't taste like much but i think it tastes great.
i warm it up in the mircowave and eat it plain sometimes.
i drink soymilk but i've never had vitasoy? is that soymilk?
i like bean curd too...

my grandmother makes her own tofu too. :)

i like deep fried tofu the best. i've never just warmed it up in the microwave and eat it... that sounds kind of nasty actually hahahha. oooh there's also this chinese dessert made with tofu and it's delicious. it's called dau fu fa n cantonese and just dou hua in mandarin i think. literally translates to "tofu flower".

vitasoy is a company that makes packaged soy drinks. it's a company in HK and now you can buy it in any city with a high enough concentration of asians i think. i grew up drinking it. it's great. :)

and isn't bean curd the same thing as tofu? :confused:

oh i thought bean curd was that crumbly thing that's left-over from the tofu making process.

Oh yeah I love tofu too. Soy milk tastes great.

I like tofu... fried and with a shrimp in the middle. Defeats the health purposes of tofu but it's good Chinese food.

Ah yes, soy milk. Drink it hot or cold but definately sweet.

ewwwww...you mean the fermented fried tofu (with the garlic and chili sauce)? heard that people can smell it a mile away! :gross:


But i love fried tofu (without all the extras) -- chiu chow style is pretty good. i love homemade soymilk and "soy-pudding" -- only i can't get over the fact that you need plaster to harden it? (that's what my grandma told me). Lately I've been eating "vegetarian duck" -- its awesome (beancurd(?) wrapped black mushrooms).

I got really confused by Vitasoy. Once I had a juice-box sized one (from Chinatown) that i've had since i was a kid, and a large sugarless "American" one (from American grocery store). They really tasted different. Think Chinatown one was more watered down but tasted better.

I never had a soy product that I really liked.

Soy nuts weren't all that bad, but I didn't really like those, either.
