I stopped drinking soda a couple years back.

But if I do have some it's rum and Coke, not rum and Pepsi.

Pepsi tastes like artificial Coke. And Crystal Pepsi--what the fuck was THAT?!

Crystal Pepsi was just the company trying to save on food coloring and trying to market their scheme by saying it was good for you since there were no artificial colors. You can make all the drinks taste the same and be clear. Does orange soda need to be orange? I think not.

Crystal Pepsi wasn't simply Pepsi without the food coloring--it had a distinct taste that wasn't very cola-like, much less Pepsi-like, at all.

<pedant>I took "Cola" to mean a strict cola, meaning that it is a Cola derivative, containing kola nuts. Crystal Pepsi is not a cola since it does not fit that description.</pedant> I wonder what colas the 3 people who chose "other" prefer. In that sense I chose Coca-Cola. Just try making a Rum & Coke with something other than Coca-Cola -- there is simply no comparison.

I love Pepsi, but I'll drink Coke. Not such a big deal for me. Did you notice how huge Pepsi is in Asia. I'm pretty sure Pepsi has a much larger overseas market then Coke. Also Fanta is so huge in Thailand, but so tiny here. Too bad, I like Fanta, especially the green one :D

No way Tawee! It's always Coke in Hong Kong and they come in those lovely glass bottles.

Fanta is huge in Vietnam too, but Coke and Pepsi are big too. I remember when I went to Thailand, they were selling Cokes in those small glass bottles...guess its easier to make glass than aluminum?

Oh, is it the green Fanta that you like or the green Fantana, Tawee? :P

Coke. I love coke. Memories associated with it. (The Big Glass Bottles before they killed it off and turned them to the smaller ones)

Too bad they don't have those glass bottles anymore. I used to pour colored sand into them to make different patterns. Good memories.

I LOVE APPLE SIDRA!!! Happily, its in abundant supply where i am (well, about a 20 min drive...) VVongBa, want some? If you're in the US, I'll mail u some for xmas :) gotta share the sidra!!

If we're counting apple sidra as a type of "coke", then I think its definitely the best, hands down... totally beats the crap out of Martinellis too =P much more flavorful :)

You know what else I remember? I think the glass bottles were expensive, cause whenever we ordered from a street vendor, they never gave you the bottle. They'd pour it into a plastic sandwich bag, tie it with a rubber band, stick a straw in it and hand it over. It was pretty cool. You couldn't put it down though, it'll spill, but you can hang it on something if you wanted your hands free.

Oh, is it the green Fanta that you like or the green Fantana, Tawee? :P

What's fantana? I think I'm missing the joke.

In my parents' country, soda was sold in glass bottles, too.

They probably had cans, too, but I honestly can't remember seeing any. My mom says you see cans now, though.

The trucks the soda was delivered on would wake me up some mornings because they would click all the way up the street. But the noise wasn't annoying, the clicks of the bottles on the trucks actually sounded musical.

Ah, the memories!

Colas are gross, but the least gross from those on the list is Pepsi.

I think Dr. Pepper has to be the best cola.

Also Fanta is so huge in Thailand, but so tiny here.

Isn't Fanta new here?

I don't remember seeing it up here until recently, so maybe that's why they have larger markets elsewhere than here.

I kind of assumed it has begun being marketed here as an attempt to provide immigrants (particularly Hispanics) with a product they are used to as well as drawing in a new fan base.
