For any that are interested, I voted "soda". Also, I find "coke" annoying as it is used in Texas.
Below is a good reference on what America says about this issue

i say soda.
when i went to seattle for the first time.
my friend kept asking me if i wanted pop. and i thought.. "umm, we just ate dinner"
because in korean pop...bab..bob..whatever..is rice ..or a meal.
calling it pop.. sounds so... outdated..

I call it by it's name, or just "pop". Calling it coke is illogical unless it /is/ Coke.

In SC, it is called Coke or soda. 'Cause Coke is so prevalent here anyway since headquarters are in Atlanta. I call it soda personally. Or by the name of the drink.

I never drink carbonated beverages, but when referring to them I say "pop", when I order, I call it by its name.
When my friend moved to Tampa, she told me that people asked her if she wanted to be punched  when she asked for a "pop" , so she switched to "soda".

I think we call it soda here in the south, but it could be "coke" too. I'm not sure if people are just referring to the most popular soda at the part or whether they're referring to all sodas as coke.
Can any other southerners clear this up for me?

I guess calling pop Coke is just like calling tissues Kleenex and gelatin Jell-O. Still dumb.

i don't drink carbonated beverages, too acidic (it'll give you spots) unless it's with some sort of alcoholic drink. i call that a chaser.
Hah Contra! Ummm....what kind of spots?

acidic liquids so imbibed put light colored spots on your back (especially), more noticeable the darker you are. i.e. soda pop coke chasers, orange juice, but that's only if you drink hella drink, still, it also stains your teeth. look at mine, oh, no smilies with teeth showing, nevermind

Pepsi is pretty popular in Korea because its logo looks like the taegukki.
