sorry to l.a. lovers, but lakers...they are garbage this year. shaq's weight finally becoming an issue? rick foxes jaw still bothering him? heh...i haven't been watchin any of there games, but i hope shaq isn't still gettin away w/his 'bunny hops' and offensive fouls (elbow clearing, backing in, pushing, etc)....GO anybody but the LAKERS!!!!
They can turn it on when they need to. End of the season is quite some time away.
In other news, Shaq will receive the NAACP Humanitarian Award in Sports this year.

Lakers are CRAP this year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Maybe those previous victories are making their head a little tooooooooo big...providing a false sense of power and invincibility........
Although I've been a loyal fans over the years, I just can't watch them anymore..........They need to start improving their game.....................
As for Shaq...............i'm not even going to say it... :(

He shouldn't have made those comments about Yao Ming:0

Yao Ming should drag Shaq to the nearest Chinatown and practice basic Gung Fu punches and kicks on his overweight ass in front of the little Chinese children. :D
Watched the Nets-Lakers game and the Philly-Lakers game and they are damn awful, but I can't really pin the blame on Shaq and Kobe. The scoring is ridiculously lopsided and nobody else pulls their weight. It's too bad the Clippers tickets cost 1/3 as much as Lakers tickets.

I never wanted the lakers to win last year and build up a dynasty.

So who's gonna have a shot at Lebron James, the high school thoroughbred and prodigy, who will most likely go first in the lottery draft.
Perhaps the Warriors? the Nuggets? the Knicks  ? the Heat? or the three time defending world champs the LAKERS :D
The Lakers look halfway done. They looked sloppy. Sloppier than a Times Square hooker after giving head for the up'teenth time as part of a hard night's work, back in the day.
Yesterday's recap:
1)Nets trounced the Celtics
2)Kings (or the Queens as Gump Shaq likes to put it) took one from the Lakers at home and basically shut em down in the fourth quarter. Guess the Kings got the better end of all that trash talking leading up to yesterday's game. I guess instead of Shaq massagin' Doug Christie's wife's feet. Webber is busy massaging Vanessa's (Kobe's wife) feet. Vanessa is quite the hot looking bizatch too. Bet she got nice feet and that nice arch. Heh heh heh heh.
**ducks from Tre** sorry d00d couldn't resist.
Edit: What happened to Kobe's wife. She got mad busted. Is this how women look like after they get married? :gross:

Vanessa is Rick Fox's wife. I think Kobe's married to some Swedish supermodel (or is that Tiger Woods?)
Anyway, you're right about the lakers. They have to win virtually every game for the rest of the season just to win 50 games. They went from winning their third straight championship to possibly not even making the playoffs in one season (and this isn't like what happened in 1998-99 with the Bulls, the Lakers have practically the same lineup as last year)

Kobe married some local LA girl straight out of HS. Tiger's got the Swedish model.
I love to see the Lakers losing. It warms my herat to no end...but the Lakers better NOT win the lottery. That would scream conspiracy...kinda like the Knicks getting Ewing or the Spurs getting Duncan.

Kobe's wife is Vanessa Laine a small time model or something. She models for Kimora Lee's Baby Phat clothing line, I think.

And to be honest. i think the Lakers are just out of sync. The triangle is working and the interior defense is nothing like it was before. Opponents are driving down the lane with no weak side help. They getting timba-land up!
Nets and Mavs look strong!

Phil Jackson used the triangle for years with the Bulls and it worked excellent. The objection of the play is to get the shooting guard open for a shot (that would've been Jordan). However, Shaq, admittedly, is such a dominant player that the play can be modified to where Shaq gets the ball in the end and scores an easy layup or dunks it right in with ease.
They do have to do something about that defense. Shaq is quick on his feet, so he can handle a man-to-man defense. When the Lakers are playing zone, most guys get scared seeing Shaq's huge muscular body guarding the goal, so it would seem that they are forced to shoot outside shots. But something just isn't working right.
I agree about the Nets, they whooped SERIOUS ass on Christmas when they played the Celtics. Nothing like last years' conference finals. The Mavs are pretty strong, too, and in the next couple of years, look for the Rockets to get stronger as Yao Ming improves (with help from Steve Francis, etc. of course, though).
BTW, me likes the eye candy, guys! :D

I saw a billboard of Shaq holding a basketball while wearing a graduation gown...in Pennsylvania (not too far from Philly). The billboard was supposed to promote education. I understand AI only went to Georgetown for one year, but of all basketball players why Shaq?

not immediately.. i think the jump was in anticipation of the new stadium. Also during that time there was a lot of talk about lost revenues in the nba, etc. i figure it was just income capitalization.

So what if the Lakers suck right now during the regular season? If they string together another twenty years of disappointing seasons, what will they have?
The rest of the NBA ('cept for Chicago and Boston).
You fans of those "other teams" no canna speak: win a championship first, for christsakes.

The Lakers?
I'm surprised that they've struggled like this. For three time championships, this does not make sense. If they had as much chemistry problems as they seemingly do where was it in their first three recent championships? I don't think it's really the main problem. The main problem is that Shaq went out, Kobe tried to take over, got his chance to prove he could do something, showed he can't, and that he is overrated, always has been ( not skill, but player relation ), and that their team functions as a unit and only as a unit, because without that triangle offense working right, they're as good as the Grizzlies.

what new talent have they brought in ?
This is the first time in 3 yrs that they have not brought in a potential starter. New talent.
i.e.
Lindsey Hunter
Horace Grant
Samaki Walker
