I have only played the ones on the consoles except majora's mask and my first was the original.
Never liked any of those game boy zeldas.

zelda was ok until n64 after that it was confusing and a waste.

I think I just don't like Zelda games if 1 or 2 things are missing from them.
1. Princess Zelda
2. Ganon
All the games absent of these elements are residual stories and are really boring.

i played ocarina of time and ummmm i dont know the other one but it was for snes...the first one for n64 was damn fun...those zombies creeped me out =P.
I've only played the original, The Adventure of Link and The Oracle of Time. The Adventure of Link was a terrible follow up to the first game, I thought. I loved The Oracle of Time, but never did get around to finishing it 'cause my idiot friend erased my saved game at the last or second to last temple.=/

actually dragon warrior had many sequels on the NES.
1 2 and 3 were like three parts to the same story. It was very epic and wonderful.
There have also been many sequels on other platforms as well. I don't know how many of them came to the USA, but rght now I think they are up to 10 and have been making games for the playstation.

you dont need to know japanese to understand the first zelda. There is no relevant dialogue. That old man who talks to you donesnt know how to speak proper english anyway because they translated it so horribly in english, so people in the states would have been just as lost and in the dark as you would.
besides, the japanese version would have kanji in it so you can read things like the cardinal directions, money, and items like sword, letter, bottle.. etc..
I remember the way that old man spoke in english...
"Ones who doesnt have triforce can't enter"
"Master using it and you can have this"
"Dodongo hates smoke"
"The secret is in the easternmost peninsula"
"Your money or your life."

I played all of the following games except the newest game boy games, and the new GBA one. Have you guys seen the original plans for Link for the GC? He looked hella tight. Now he's like a big headed gimp with a wooden sword to boot. *grumbles*

Yea well they have to make this game different otherwise it would be the same as the n64 zelda just with nicer graphics.
