Drinking Iron Goddess (Tie Guan Yin) tea before playing my Taiji exercises during a hot day. This Cardinal learned that tradition from his Taiji associates.

One more good tradition. Reading the Chinese classics on a rainy weekend at least once a year.

I like the Chinese tradition of fighting over the bill after dinner at a restaurant so my wallet stays full.

Me: I got it this time (reaches for check)
Chinese dinner companion(s): No no, don't be ridiculous. Let me.
Me: Oh ok nice (sits back down)
Chinese dinner companion(s): Erm......*silence* *awkward smile*

With my mom, she expects me to pay, and that's a given seeing as she's spent so much money on me and my sister.

I usually do this, especially if the other person suggested the place. If I suggest the place, I usually buy.

^ I like Mooncake too, I used to eat 1 or 2 whole at a time. Then when I got older I looked at the nutrition information (and I use the word 'nutrition' loosely here) and found out one was like 800 calories and 250% saturated fat, or something.

Dammit. Why did you make me turn the box over?

880 calories (something I don't mind)

64% saturated fat (something I do mind)

8g trans fat (something I really mind).

Crap.

Mooncakes, love them. Was at a dinner the other night and we're talking about the origins of the moon cake.

Anyway, moon cakes was one of the reasons why I was a butter ball.

They're probably still healthier than real moon cakes, though. There's not many things where the marketers have to pare down the serving size to half a bite to get "reasonable" nutritional facts.

Seriously, short of a ball of pure lard, what else is the size of a mooncake with that type of constituency.

Nah, frosted skins just means the skin is frozen, but the fillings are the usual. "Ice cream mooncakes" are actually filled with ice cream (and an alleged egg yolk, which tastes suspiciously like cookie dough to me), and typically covered in chocolate.

unless of course, the toxin (or cardboard-filled mooncake) causes severe vomiting, diarrhea, and sweating, making you so dehydrated you can't take a piss for days. then you'll never know you were poisoned.
