I know the terms eurasian and blasian. Who else are we forgetting? Is there an accepted term for hispanic-Asians? I've heard of Chinarican but that sounds too specific.
Any other hapa subgroups?

what about Native Americans/Asians?

Well, those two races look similar to each other. It makes sense, because native americans are said to have crossed the land bridge from asia to north america about 40,000 years ago-mixture with the native americans explains why some black and white people look asian or have asian features (such as "mongoloid" eyes, flat faces, high cheekbones, etc.)
I've never heard a term for hispanic/asians. Aren't Filipinos hispanic/asian mix? Or are they just asians who have spanish names, etc. The ones i've met looked mixed to me.

I know a guy who is native/Japanese. He identifies mainly with his tribe. Telling him about the hapa thing would send him into gales of laughter.

Maybe he feels that because native american culture has been wiped away from the face of the earth to the point that it is, that he feels a strong bondage or perhaps obligliation to honor his native american culture.

I've heard Africasian before. And of course blasian. Never have i heard those other ones, and it took me a minute to figure out what the hell "wasian" is.

Well I don't like Eurasians because I have no ties with any of my distant European relatives. Great-great Grandpa Faraone and Great-great Grandpa Scarpula moved to the USA in the early 1900's.
And my mother's side of the family are mutts of Italian German Irish and Dutch so I think White is fine.
I also coined the racial slur Chonkey to refer to myself, but I think that's more of comic relief then self hate.

Ainapanese (Ainu + Japanese)
Eugene, Aren't there already quite a few of these who prefer just not to bring attention to themselves ?

Well I guess so. I couldn't imagine anyone wanting to admit that they have Ainu roots.
But no there are probably not too many of them. The Ainu have almost ceased to exist as a race. It is privy to the Native Americans plight in the Americas.

Well, are the people who live in Siberia (near China, Japan, Alaska, etc.) considered to be related to the Ainu?

I believe the Ainu are more closely related to Pacific Islanders, or whoever they (PIs) came from.

Some people went as far to say that the Ainu were white, but I think that that was unfounded, and existed during the times when people believed that there were only 3 races on the planet, based on some British theory... Caucasian, African, and Asian, and that all phenotypical differences arose from interbreeding of the 3. It classified Indians as White, even though British society heavily descriminated against them in the past.
Some would argue now that no races exist, just phenotypical differences, and from a biological standpoint, they would be correct, however, phenotypical differences do account for classification of people under certain groups and this is why race does exist.

Africasian rolls off the tongue pretty well. It reads easy too. Wasian sounds dorky. I'll stick to eurasian. I know of AmerAsian and have used it but like I said before, it makes me feel like Colonial Baby.
But I'm with BTR, I tend to use terms more comical terms for myself if I have a choice. If it's for an official document I usually check the Other box.

I think 'rice cracker' is starting to grow on me :-P. I once met a black woman married to a Jewish man, they called their kids 'He-bros'.

I'd rather be a Rice Cracka', Chonkey or eurasian before I'd want to be Wasian.
