Korean-American professional golfer Anthony Kim has just won his first PGA tour event in impressive fashion.

Though I'd rather prefer an Asian guy dominate as, say, the QB of an NFL franchise, golf is still a sport (sort of, haha). Good to see an Asian-American male athlete achieve success.

What would happen if a billion Chinese suddenly became interested in Golf? Would we see an Asian dominated PGA tour?

That's the amazing and improbable thing about Tiger Woods dominated a mostly white sport. I don't watch golf, but I swear to god the only non Whites I've heard of are Vijay Singh, Tiger, and K.J. Choi.

Kim wins no. 2 (the only player other than Tiger to win 2 PGA events in the same season by age 25).

The same thing that would happen if a billion Chinese suddenly became interested in hockey. The world would implode. It violates the laws of nature, not only because it would mean that Chinese people have a singular personality, but because God saw it fit to limit the popular of those sports.

The only American player, I believe. I remember Sergio Garcia and Adam Scott did it since Tiger.

AK represented the US in this year Ryder Cup. He went 2-1-1, but more importantly he whooped Sergio Garcia, a golfer with great Ryder Cup record, so bad. Basically, he set the tone for the US team when he won the first match for the US against Garcia on Sunday. Mad props to AK. Oh yeah, Tiger was injured and couldn't participate this year.

Go Sooners! Just joking, I don't really care that he's a Sooner.

It was funny seeing Kim get under Garcia's skin at the Ryder Cup - basically, he "out-Garciaed" Garcia.

Kim probably would have won the Champions as well if he hadn't nearly missed his tee time on the 3rd day.

Anyhow, Kim is now probably the most visible Asian-American male athlete to have represented the US in international competition.

that kinda defeats the point of being 'the most visible asian american male athlete' right now.

People who are golf fans pretty much know Anthony.

And I'd say that the more hard-core sports fans now know who he is.

I was speaking from a personal standpoint, since i keep myself fairly connected to popculture on a very broad spectrum. i'm not hardcore anything but very softcore on everything.
