LOL, I'm not making waves but I just feel that mixed Asians like me (Chinese/Japanese/Mongolian) just kinda get overlooked in the extraordinariness of our own mixed heritage cuz we don't have very striking physical markers like HAPAs. Not being too serious though, as one of Asian friends said, "we all look alike," which I disagree with, but hey, there are a lot more similarities between different Asians than say Asians and African-Americans. : P

I knew two guys that were half Vietnamese half Chinese and they were excellent athletes in middle and high school. One was short and small and the other was tall and fat. The short one went on to become an engineer.
I also knew some brothers that were half Japanese and half Korean. One of them was popular with the ladies with his personality. He didn't play mind games. He was just nice to everybody and was a naturally cool guy.

It warms my heart to see I'm made of 2 disaparate mixes. :frown:
So, what you want is for people to put you on a pedestal for the simple reason of being mixed so people can objectify you just like other hapas?
It's not all it's cracked up to be.

Within the context of Asian-Americans, these types of mixes don't really matter as much. Certainly they matter a lot more in Asia itself.
At Yellowworld, as there isn't a seperate forum for each of the Asian ethnicities, these types of mixes can air their gripes and complaints or debate the virtues of being mixed asian ethnicities in whatever or the rant room. Hapa forum is for discussion about mutiraciality.
It's good to acknowledge these kinds of discussions though.
