Greetings and salutations.
I am an Asiaphile. I have browsed many articles and forums (including this one), and ultimately it seems we Asiaphiles are stereotyped as many things:
1. Desperate, willing to date any girl just because she' Asian (even if she's repulsive looking)
2. Culturally insensitive pricks who buy into the crap western media stereotypes of Asians (i.e. Asian woman as hypersexual or Asian men as physically impotent)
3. Just generally insensitive pricks who feels a need to ask a female target her ethnicity, then comment on her beauty
4. If not the above, will assume female target is such and such ethnicity, and will attempt conversing in the language of her homeland, even if she's obviously at least a 2nd generation Asian American who speaks fluent English
I have yet to commit any of the above listed atrocities. Hell, I know next to nothing about Asian language or culture, I just think (some, not all) Asian (specifically east and southeast) women look damn good. I mean, a man would have to be crazy to not find a woman that looks anything like Kaila Yu or Carla Maria attractive.
I guess this doesn't make me a normal Asiaphile, it must make me an UBER ASIAPHILE!!
Anyhow, crap facts about crap me: Bachelor Degree in IT Security, works a shitty IT job, pumps iron at the gym like there's no tomorrow, listens to grim and blasphemous metal and hardcore, make myself look like a douche at hardcore shows when I do hardcore dancing and epic fail at it, playing various RPG video games (Final Fantasy comes to mind), and watching Anime.
