what are the criteria for being on the ballot?

i dont know who chooses the candidates for the ballot
but being an allstar requires both popularity and good stats on the court

although players that have declined in performance over the years still make all star

rookies must be extremely good to grab enough attention to before the ballot is determined

lol, there's hardly any rookies that get on the all-star ballot.

Uh yeah, I don't think he has earned the right to be on the all-star ballot yet LOL

Although Yao Ming I think made the All-Star game in his rookie year, which is probably what may have skewed the perspective of the Chinese here.

Could Yi play in the rookie game the day before? (Or whatever its called: Hockey has the "youngstars game" where the best rookies and sophomores face off)

the panel makes their selections before the season starts, so it doesnt matter yi jianlin took charlie villanueva's spot. he knows he shouldnt be on the all-star ballot.
also, the fan vote is what makes it fun. but the unlimited online voting is just weird. it's like people are voting for players who they dont even watch.

He hasn't proven much yet... Wait for a few years then perhaps he can be there too....
