I find it more appetizing than going to a place created to celebrate "jail" culture. I read the sentence at the end of the article in reference to Taiwan, but I think I read recently (NYTimes or Boston.com ?) that they were redecorating an oil jail and turning it into an upscale hotel with restaurants, etc.

i actually remember watching some show where a jail was turned into a restaurant. diners were led to cells and "locked in" while dining. i *think* they could be handcuffed too, for picture posing purposes.

I know this has been posted before but I can't find it. Anyhow, that is one hell of a spacious restaurant for Taipei.

edit: I stand corrected. That one's in Kaohsiung.

And I don't even have to get up from the table and miss the conversation with a trip to the bathroom!

Is the girl on the right a plumber, or is she taking advantage of the decor?

Didn't Taiwan also have a restaurant which had a concentration camp theme complete with waiters dressed in Waffen SS uniforms?

There is one in India, no?
