Right now, for the dudes, unless you're in a relationship, are you living by yourself in your own place, or you have roommates there with you? I'm about to move into a townhouse in November, and I considered getting someone to move in, but decided against due to lack of privacy I would have in the long run. The next time I have anyone moving in with me would be a serious relationship, but for now I am content with just letting people come and go as they please instead of being stuck with them every day. =P

Depends on the roommates too.
Sometimes I wanna be a hermit and shoot anyone who gets near me.
Other times, I wanna just chill and laugh at the TV/People/Life (usually call people up for that nowadays).
If my roommates didn't try to get all in my biz, or make their life my biz by dragging whatever partner home for the night and being "loud" (rolls eyes) about it, then I'd be fine with roommates.
But frankly, from the lack of positive experience with roommates, I've opted for single living. Not even cuz I want my place to be a honey-trap, but cuz I don't want anyone else's bullshit to deal with, but my own. =P

Aside from the times I lived with a girlfriend, I've always had 1 or more roommates. I've never had a bad roommate situation, we've always been respectful of each other's space and privacy.

Living by myself is my preference although I never have a serious roommate problem. I just like the fact that I can have people come over at any time and don't have to worry about bothering my roommate.

Living on my own. Before with roommates. I prefer living on my own.

After about a week and a half of living on my own, compared to living with roommates.....I'm glad the only bullshit I see when I get home is my own.

Ain't it?
Another benefit I'm seeing is that I don't have to ask my roommates if my friends can crash over.
So, when ya having a party at your place?

When my landlord is outta town (i.e. never).
When there is parking in my neighborhood. (If I get home after 8:15) on any given day, I have to park 4 blocks from my place.

Having roommates suck. I'd pay a premium anytime (given it's reasonable) to live by myself over living with a roommate.

I can never live with any (male) roommates.

Also, btw, it was in the upper 70s over here yesterday. Another brutal Midwestern winter day. We have reverted back to the California type winter days though.
When I was in California, I had spaces for 2 cars. It was lovely, I recall the first time I had a guest over, the facilities crew passed by in their golf cart type vehicle and appears to be writing down the license plate and car description for my friend's vehicle (or perhaps other information). They were so caring, they were sure to steal some of my stuff the day before I left.

I will be having somewhat of a roommate. I will be renting the guest area to a friend who is also relocating when I move into my house.
Privacy isn't really an issue since the guest area is isolated from the main area and has its own entrance and plus I get to live out my fantasy of playing slumlord like when he can't pay his rent, I'd demand that his girlfriend strip for me.
