NYC clubs

Has anyone checked out the 'hot' clubs in New York City? Like the places that all the stars always go to - Butter, Plumm etc?

Got a friend coming over from LA and she wants to paint the town red. So I have to 'sound' like I know which clubs are good, and which ones aren't.
