haha, Germany defeated Argentina 11-0. Plus, North Korea did pretty good hiding from the world these past days.

Can I ask why the N.Korean women team all have short hair and look like kdrama ACTORS and not actresses?

I think I saw commercials for them in the very early morning, like 4 AM and 7 AM early.

ESPN is showing them, and so is Telemundo/Univision. I assume they are available on the Asian channels as well. But yes, the games are broadcast in the wee hours starting before dawn. Games are in China.

Watching Japan and Argentina play right now. Japan just missed on a spectacular header in 40th minutes of the 2nd half.

It sucks, I have my own apartment now but I have no cable or other way to watch the games. I can go online and watch the highlights but its not the same.

Actually, there are a couple on the NK team who aren't bad. they just seem to suffer from the same syndrome that affected the Russians and East Germany way back when, afflicting them with androgyny and bad hair.

If china do not win tomorrow with a high margin then they could face elimination.

I have to admit that I could care less about women's soccer as I find it as appealing as the WNBA. But, who can resist a good, old fashioned cat fight. I'm just eating up the controversy surronding the US soccer team after their coach replaced their starting goalie with the backup for the match against Brazil. Brazil ended scorching the US team 4-0, the biggest defeat the women's team ever suffered. And, then the benched goalie just threw the other goalie and the coach under the bus by stating that she could have made those saves. I love this goalie's name, Hope Solo, and she's fairly cute but I don't know if we'll ever see her start another game again.

why is that whenever there's a thread about female athletics, it inevitably boils down to the question of how cute they are?

i wanted to support women soccer some more, but the media conglomerates put those games early, early in the morning when people were still sleeping, to suppress ratings. if fox or espn really wanted to showcase and support women athletics, they would have played these games during prime-time.

^^^ still, many American television station don't give a crap about soccer anyways so I doubt they'll do that.

Oh bullcrap. The games were played in China, where they have, ya know, different time zones. The media didn't schedule those games, you meathead.

So bascially, you didn't watch the games because it was inconvenient to you.

and, next year, with the olympics in china, do you think that nbc will be running the olympic events at three or four in the morning, or during prime time?

those games were on at something like four in the morning. if i taped it, then it wouldn't have helped with the ratings. if those games had been on during normal hours, of course i would have watched and supported women's soccer.

I repeat, "you didn't watch the games because it was inconvenient to you."

Time-delayed sports events are retarded. We live in a global world.
