Yes. Deal with it... Find whatever it is that you want to identify as and stick to it... Don't take shit from anyone...

You sure you're from Houston? I've never had anyone presume me to be the product of a GI and a whore.

Yeah. But my family fits the American GI/warbride stereotype and my mom was illegit so I don't really cry about it not being fair. Gramma wasn't a ho but I guess she qualifies as what most people label sellout. Things like this have become some of the most trivial shit in my life right now.

You can tell them some lady from the internet tells them they can call her names but it's not true for you.

People kept asking me if my friend who has a white dad and filipino mom if her mom was a male order bride because her dad looks a lot older than her mom or if she's a war baby, even though they're about the same age. I think she was put off by a lot of people including a lot of my overzealous activist friends who looked poorly at her family. When she went to the Phillippines people called her Barbie and all this stuff. Sucked for her a lot, it really made me question a lot of things about APIA politics of identity.

Just came to one conclusion, fuck the idiots man, you ultimately decide who you are.

I think as we will see a lot more IR asians in the future. It appears that a lot of asian women prefer white men, at least in America. I don't really want to start the poor asian guy... debate. I'm just stating that those who are mixed are at the forefront of many IR asians. Lets hope to see some great role models for these IR children, you've been through it, set the example for them to follow.

think about the flip side, do you have MORE respect for a white female and Asian male couple? do you see them as a "more stable" couple?
