Irony. So basically he feels good about himself, but brought shame upon his home with the suspension. Worth it?

Oh wow I'd pat him on the back if he were my son. I can't believe the other guy was so pathetic he actually got picked up and thrown over to the ground.

Of course! Suspension is no big deal.

Good for him. I can't believe he let the guy walk away like that. Follow the retreat, don't ever let up until the guy goes down and stays down.

^Depends on the parent. My dad would pat me on the back, my mom would be pissed. She's one of those, "school record is more important than anything" types.

old vid. seen it on MA forums.
The vietnamese kid trains olympic style wrestling according to his myspace.
it's not the size of the dog but the amount of fight in the dog.
and there's no need to put him down to make him stay down if he's running away like that.
If it's a street situation(outside of a club)
then maybe I'd say that might be appropriate.
but letting the guy walk away with humiliation is more than appropriate in a school environment.
Public schools are shitholes these days.
I'm going to make sure my kids can fight from grade 1 and up.
I'd probably start them off with shoots and wrestling until age 9.
then start them on muay thai. then arnis/escrima weapons stuff once they hit high school.

8 days suspension for glory and reputation that'll last years?
I think it'd be well worth it
What alternative do you propose? sit there and take shit like that?
Better to live life with no regrets.
High School records don't mean shit these days unless you plan on going to Yale/Harvard. and even then you could just do a state school and transfer.

i'm a bit conflicted.
Part of me feels vindicated for scott
but a bigger part of me is disturbed
by this violence, especially at the students
who were cheering in the background.
did not one kid have the correct judgement
to call a teacher before things escalated?
I don't think a violent fight or Scott just
putting up with the bully are both good ideas.
maybe instead of training your future children
to fight you should worry more about raising
them correctly to avoid meaningless altercations.

if everyone did what you did we would have more school shootings
if there is a way to change how they behave, for example using physchology, then do it
if violence is the only way then there is not going to be a happy ending

Eh. Old video. The novelty wore off. One of the posters here is Scott's cousin. Don't remember which one.
Old news. Yawn. Crap like this, though, it would show people shouldn't be picked on, perpetuates the Asian man Martial Artist Stereotype. I don't see much to be positive about here.

well, what would you have liked to see? scott gets beaten up, kowtows, does the bully's homework...?
that shit was awesome. if anything, kids will no longer be teasing him about knowing martial arts or whatever asian stereotype pops into their heads. that's a win.
i would have liked to see more violence. and scott wailing on more people.
is that how you spell it? wailing? whatever. but yeah. violence. woohoo!

I don't see how it perpetuates the martial artist stereotype considering the guy didn't once strike a martial arts pose or use anything resembling most Asian Martial arts....

^ It's called Asian While Fighting. You could be thumb wrestling or someshit and still be a scary azn martial artist.

yeh no shit, it wasn't any martial art, it was straight up shitkickin windmill style. i would have liked seeing him knee his nose and cheekbone too. and then shitkick someone else like tony jah.

yeh for real, he was brawling.
isn't the system so ironic in that the kid that gets picked on and challenged to a fight gets punished?
i would have suspended the bully and all his supporters for the slurs that they were throwing around. that's the real injustice.
*edit: not really editing, just pointing out that he doesn't get challenged, rather he challenges the other kid to put an end to things.

See that's the thing. I'm glad Scott didn't get his ass kicked, and moreso that he did the ass-kicking.
However, like ya said, instead of "Oh, let's not mess with Scott, he'll kick my ass", it's "Oh shit, it's that Asian kid that puts up YouTube videos of himself and his friends using doing Martial Arts. Didn't he kick that one kid's ass?"
Crap like this, though, it would show people shouldn't be picked on, perpetuates the Asian man Martial Artist Stereotype. I don't see much to be positive about here.
Old video – as for as perpetuating Asian stereotypes, I don’t see that.
Scott used wrestling and boxing moves – no martial arts at all.
