so how many others here actually own one??
i have one, i got it at a discount from my work...
it was a crazy day the morning they went on sale...
ppl were lined up at whole foods before
the store even opened...
i heard ppl even called in asking for us to hold
one for them-- saying they would buy it
for 500 bucks, if we kept one aside for them
to pick up later....
crazy, for just a mere canvas bag...
i wasnt gonna buy one at first
but i caved in once i saw some cnn news
show about how everybody was
into wanting this bag...
i guess i shoulda sold it on ebay tho...
my niece sold her bag on ebay and got
a little over 200 bucks for it...
crazy...
so yeah, i actually still have mine...
and actually use it when i go shopping...
along with other re usable canvas bags i own-
that i brought for only a dollar tho...
how about you?
if you dont own this bag, do you bring along
other resuable bags when you
go grocery shopping...
or do you still stick with the
grocery markets plastic bags they give you instead?

Yeah I have one - lines were crazy! IMO, way too big of a deal for a canvas bag...

mine is the fake taiwan nightmarket edition. You already have to purchase your own plastic bags or bring your own bags shopping here because of environmental laws though, so it's purely fashion. It's perfect size for me to haul my books and camera around though.

i heard people in line were actually getting into fights
for this bag. well, the whole foods in union square, at least.
you can find a nice, canvas bag at the 99 cent store
for a dollar. granted you'll find crazy logos on it but whatever.
i got a really nice sturdy bag for groceries in seoul, because
they also charge for plastic bag there.
i noticed that the bag boys hate it when i bring my used
plastic bags because i guess it takes more work to bag
it when it's used.
it's good to see people trying to be more enviromentally conscious.

It was pretty mad when the bags came out in London - people queued for hours just to get hold of one. But it all became a hypocritical farce when they showed the sales assistants putting the canvas bags into plastic bags after the sale.
I don't think the message will get through with this bag - after all, if this bag is supposed to increase awareness of the environment, why only make a limited edition of it that everyone will fight over and sell it on eBay (more packaging etc)? Why not make millions, so that everyone can get one so they can use it for their shopping?
And no, I'm not bitter 'cos I didn't get one. My friend actually queued up for me - his local store only had 30 bags on sale, and he was no. 32 in the queue - this was at 7am!! He almost wanted to scold the schoolgirls in front and tell them to go to school instead of queueing up... LOL
good god. it's not as if canvas bags haven't been around and this is the FIRST one. jesus.

Brown paper bag. Place it on the floor, light it on fire and ring the doorbell of someone you hate.
I take no responsibility for what happens after this advice.

Everybody wants to be green nowadays. Even moreso than when it was actually cool in the 90's.

i too have the same problem.
how about biodegradable plastic bags?
they're a bit more expensive but i think
worth it.
or you can lay paper down when they're about
to poop and then flush it down the toilet
when you get home.

i have no idea who this designer is.
maybe fashionistas might know her.
i've never heard of her before this.

She's a well-known British designer, probs more known in the UK than in the US. Her bags normally cost £400 onwards, so she's in the same market as Burberry, Chloe etc.

I don't think it's an urban thing since I haven't heard of it.
