I'm going to be going into an interview for a job. It's the third and final interview that I have to pass in order to get it.

The job I'm applying for is telephone technical support for a popular video game system. I'm told that I can dress business casual, and this is what I did on my second interview.

I am 28 years old, look 18, and love video games like a 15 year old. Just recently, I've started to get enough hair to where it almost looks like a full beard.

Should I wear my beard to the interview? I feel like if I don't wear my beard, people get the wrong idea about me. But on the other hand, don't people usually shave before going to work?

My recommendations, don't wear the beard. It never hurts to be clean shaven, but wearing a beard could cost you.

Get rid of the beard. Tattoo a swastika on your forehead.

Sigh, at least you can grow a beard, I'm one of those hairless Asians that can't even grow a soul patch. A thin mustache is the best I can hope for.

I don't know what technical support is like for video games, but if is anything like computers or other high tech products, it can be very stressful. You will get a lot of assholes who like to take their frustration with the product on you.

So don't take any of their comments personally and you should be fine.

ha, i just started growing mine out and i'm around your age.

it seems men age slower as well. it's just like a goatee at the end of my chin and that's it. no hair on neck really or side of jaw, just the tip of chin and just below the bottom lip. LOL

Because he saw an episode of Naruto and saw a manji on his head (reversed swastika) and thought it would be a cool thing to do. Roflopter, zomg, mah 1337nezz iz showing! pwnt!

Wow, now that my geeky flip out urge is gone, it'd work better for you to be clean shaven for any interview, and if not, keep it well groomed/trimmed.

I am one of those super-hairy South Asians. I had a hairy chest, arms and could grow a dense beard when I was 15 years old. I spend so much more time on shaving than less hirstute men, but I have met women of all races who find it very manly. I do not know how it affects employment though.

LOL, there's a new gas station at the end of my road.

it's east indians.

there is a kid there that's like 7 y.o. and he has a full beard and eyebrows with a bit of monobrow.

he's going to be a beast when he gets older.

7 y.o?? You`re exaggerating a tad. Some women find hairy men very manly....and some don`t. Don`t know what employers think about beards. I guess it depends on the job.....and the employer.

On a semi-related note, I've heard putting your own undiluted piss on your facial area will help stimulate facial hair growth. Fact or fiction?

No, it was either a really bad frat jock or you just met a friend who's into watersports.

Lots of hormone drugs will get you the extra fuzz for a beard.

The piss-beard theory was started on another forum where some guy was asking how to grow a beard. The first response was this, and he said you had to do it for 3 consecutive months for it to work. At first, people were saying it was bullshit, but then a lot more peeps kept saying that it was nasty but it worked. It's a humor forum, so I guess they were trying to trick him into actually doing it. Damn I'm so gullible.

My I'm a werewolf, that is, I shave in the morning and by 5PM I'm half way to full beard.

Anyway, answer to your question. Loose the beard. An interview is an interview, regardless of what the guy at the other said.

You can demonstrate your personality some other way.
