Is anyone else incredibly sensitive to caffeine? I went out to have tea and dinner in the mountains with a few friends over 8 hours ago and I still can't sleep. I have tea everyday early in the day too, you think I'd be desensitized to it, but even if I have a soda late at night I can't go to bed.

we should switch bodies. you seem to absorb just about everything. thats maybe why that tub of protein gives you fast results.
you probably get drunk easily too?

for me, caffeine goes straight to the bladder and sits there uncomfortably til its gotten rid of. i can have 5 cans of red bull and sleep like a baby.

ironically alcohol doesn't have that big an effect. my whole family is sensitive to caffeine, but we all can hold our drink. Maybe that's why.

Is there some remedy to getting the whatever toxin or whatever that causes you to be all jumpy and awake in the middle of the night with nothing to do but visit facebook, myspace, and yw? argh

its like eating alot and expecting to lose weight. it would be disrupting your body from doing what its suppose to, and its never a good thing. decafe, or don't drink it, or do pushups til your tired

i had coffee this morning, when i usually have it at nite after dinner, and depending on the day, sometimes with a cigarette. I usually sleep like a log after, but today, when i had coffee this morning, i was sprung like a kid on sugar. Ask anyone I chatter with today.

during school, i would rely on red bulls and coffee just to keep me functional during midterms/papers/finals etc. now that i've been out for awhile, my body's become really sensitive to caffeine since i don't have a reason to drink coffee or red bull anymore. sometimes when i'm tired going into work, i'll think about having some coffee, but i hold off on it because i hate having that caffeine crash later on.

ppl who can hold their liquor are sensitive to caffeine.

i am sensitive to alcohol now.

this means caffeine will let me sleep like a baby eh.

if not, diphenhydramine's the bomb.

me!!! maybe it's a chinese thing.

when i was under the age of 5 (and my brother as well), we'd get bloody noses from drinking coca cola.

in college, i copied a friend and had a double shot expresso - spent the whole night typing my essay with a barf can in my lap.

last year, went out with a friend, had some strong boba, felt light-headed the whole night.

most of the time, too much caffeine just leaves me light-headed or nauseous. caffeine from tea, specifically, does not have that effect on me though. it's just very good at keeping me up, which i'm fine with.

Too much caffeine gives me palpitations galore. Been trying to reduce it drastically since I've noticed I've become quite dependent on it over the last year. Tho in my case I can get a little desensitized after regular use again.

I once dated a girl who would hallucinate and get really trippy if she drank caffeine.

I can sleep just after drinking entire pots of coffee, but I tend to have very lucid and freaky dreams when I do.

I'm still hopped up on the redbull I had last nite I had before I attended church service last nite at 6:00. I had 3 hrs of sleep today. I'm gonna feel like crap after dinner.

I used to be able to drink coffee everyday and throughout the day, and not feel a thing at bed time. This was only 5 months ago.

Shortly after, I had changed jobs, and coffee wasn't so readily accessible, and now I stay up an additional 6 hours per one cup of regular medium sized cup of joe from Starbucks. Sadness.

ok come on people....caffeine.

i HAVE to stop drinking it cuz my hands are starting to get shaky. also, my eyes sometimes dart a little back and forth. like, it's not noticeable, but i can feel it. is that...is that because of caffeine?

^ excessive caffeine can increase bp, cholesterol levels rise, and disturb heart rhythms.

go easy when you cut your caffeine, because the fatigue/headaches are going to suck. get lots of water and rest. after a few days of hell, it'll all be over.

Yeah, but she was also insane - smoking hot Italian/Irish mix - but insane. Not just normal insane - NASA Astronaut insane. I'd fear for my life if she had ever accidentally had a sip of my coffee.

When I drink coffee, I can't really drink because coffee can give me heartburn pretty easily.

I find drinking a grande cup of mocha and some vitamin water helps my heart burn. Expresso shots helps you cut down on the straight coffee urges.

.....isn't espresso just really really concentrated coffee, and therefore, counterproductive to straight coffee urges?

espresso shots got less caffene, and it's mix with a lot of milk(Or Soy) and mocha or white chocolate.

My friend who works at starbucks showed me this chart of caffiene contain.

OOoooh. Nice. Well, let's see how many espresso shots I can get in me before my eye starts twitching and I start seeing triple.

From what I remember on the nutrition pamphlet thingie at our store, three shots of espresso (60-75 mg of caffeine per shot) has either the same amount as or a little more caffeine than the average 16oz of black bold coffee (approx. 210 or so mg).

If I have too much caffeine on really dry winter days, I get nosebleeds. I do notice that if I drink orange juice, I won't get the nosebleeds.

Other than that, I do have a sensitivity to caffeine as a large cup of coffee has me bouncing off the walls like I'm on crack. I basically do a stream of consciousness thing like Robin Williams and speak whatever comes to mind. It also amplifies my emotions when I've not had much sleep and gets me punchy.

I once had to spend a year at Anger Managment when I drank a big cup of coffee after spending a late night prepping employee computers before a massive layoff. Many of the folks being canned were friends and my boss said something that touched me off and I yelled at him (I'm usually a pretty quiet guy). Scared him so much he ran out of the room and later called HR.

I'm feeling much better now.

haha that coca cola story is adorable!!

I once had one of those...glass bottle starbuck things. Frappuchino? by itself one morning, and ended up reacting pretty badly to it. Cramps, cold sweat, etc.

In case there's a few people left who didn't know, yerba mate has caffiene. Mateiene = caffiene. It's not a stereoisomer.

My friend learned that the other day. The hard way.
