I was refilling my Charlie Card, while this MBTA attendant was "helping" this group of asian tourists. I caught some of their conversation, and the attendant was yelling at these people, "can you NOT tell the color blue," "four, zero, zero. Press four... no, press four, zero, zero." Unfortunately, the machine I was using would not fill up my card, so I had to wait behind the group of tourists. The attendant looks at me and yells at me as well, "That machine is working." I inform her that the machine would NOT fill up my card, and that she did NOT have to yell at me and these people. She then yells back at me, "Well, they don't speak English. You're Asian, why don't speak your Asian language to them." I was shocked and responded, "Just because I'm Asian, does NOT mean that I can communicate with them. Are you being racist?" The tourists then speak to me in English that she had been yelling at them and they had just asked for help. I told them that I understand and asked the attendant for her badge number, and she responds, "You don't know me." How that applies to the situation, I still don't understand. The attendant left without finishing helping the tourists. Another T-passenger was watching our situation, and starts arguing with the attendant, and the attendant responds, "I wasn't talking to you." The passenger responds, "Well, now I am talking to you." The argument continued on with them while I left.

I don't think she was actually/intentionally being racist, but I am honestly sick of people assuming that I speak Chinese/Mandarin/Cantonese. And honestly, my mandarin sucks big ass. I'm so pissed. I don't even know what to say.

I filed a complaint with the MBTA, which does basically nothing except let me vent. I want to file more complaints. I have a lot of time and want to do something about this shit.

I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to take away your progressive pass.

Unlike every other interest group, unions actually have the greater public's interest at heart, even if this will hurt its own members.

From my limited experience in area of Taxachusetts, I've witnessed more than I want to of rude self-absorbed racist white assholes (of course, I've seen them elsewhere, ... but it just doesn't stick out in my mind as much as in beantown).

What you have to do is take a video with your cell phone and post it on youtube.
